I am currently looking for other games to help mix up my free time. Playing this game day in and day out everyday for a few hours is no longer pheasible if I give a shred of care for my mental health.Originally Posted by Tundra 793 Go to original post
Ive already tried quitting a few times in fhs life span. I cant. I can take breaks. But I can't quit for good. I will say that compared to a few months ago I have less stress with the game.
Primarily because I've stopped trying to help this game get better. And when I play pc I genuinely have a decent time. Partially because hardware doesn't get in the way. But also because I rarely game on my pc. So big breaks in between play sessions on pc.
Hyper armor on neutral is the worst thing they can do to a character. This makes anyone fighting her look at her as a turtle until she does something. Im not swinging at her with her ability to trade, and feinting her into attacking seems to not work either. She very unenjoyable to fight against and I'm sure boring to play her too. Character design based on trading is not a good thing in my eyes. And making the game more turtle is against the offensive meta their trying to achieve. I kinda wish they would scratch her completely and redo her all together. Bad character, Bad design. 100% agree with knight_rhyme guy who started this thread.
All this could be a one phrase "Too much hyper armor".
Raider get a hyper armor, Bers still have too much, not Hitokiri with HA almost everywhere. So all you can do against this wonderful heros is stay, wait and react. So...frustrating. And 2-3 Hitokiri in teamfight will kill everyone even if they don't try to do this.
It's not exactly about "too much" hyper armour. It's more about where that hyper armour is placed in the kit. Having hyper armour in mid chain and finishers or coming on at the last stage of a chargeable attack is fine. Having hyper armour from neutral is cancerous because it promotes turtling on both sides.Originally Posted by SpaceJim12 Go to original post
Well, I guess you are right. Still, I think FH battle system now came to a dead end. And Ubi don't know how to change it.Originally Posted by Vakris_One Go to original post
Btw, chargeable attacks works fine in 1v1, but 4v4 fights became a mess cause of them too. First Cent, Shugo, now Hitokiri. And maybe it's just me, but parry in teamfight not work well. So when you fight against 2 Hitokiris right now there are not a chance to survive. One do charged attacks, while other spam lights. Without HA you at least could interrupt charged attack. But not with HA.
Same I put all my hope into Hitokiri, but the Samurai can't get a break in this game. I hate how more than half of them are bottom tier and bringing them into duel stresses me out and Ubi does nothing about it. Maybe in Season 11 Nobushi will get some changes but for now I put time into MK11, League of Legends, Apex Legends, and a old MMO called Perfect World I just recently got back into, sprinkle with a couple of JRPG's here and there. There's also Code Vein and the new Monster Hunter expansion coming out soon but at a point I used to ignore all these games and play For Honor all day and night until I had to work in the morning but now I can barely play it long enough to complete all daily orders.Originally Posted by Knight_Raime Go to original post
I am one of those guys that basically only played duel since the game's launch. I didn't really quit playing it 2 ish seasons ago to join the 4's crowd.Originally Posted by Helnekromancer Go to original post
Duels are abysmal, the 100% show how flawed this game is at the very core. I'm aware that this game has and always will be designed as a team based game.
But that's not an excuse for having such a cruddy experience of a fairly common situation that can happen in a team mode.
Looking ahead there are quite a few things i'm looking forward to play. Iceborne, breakpoint, borderlands 3 maybe, rage 2, etc.
For honor is my main squeeze because I need a fighter in my life. None of the anime fighters i'm interested in are on xbox. Which means i'd have to buy them on my pc which I rarely play on.
Which is why I haven't bought a fighter for it yet. If I had another fighting game that I enjoyed I guarantee you FH would be collecting dust right now. Sadly nothing else on console catches my interest fighter wise.
Good write up, thanks for taking the take to put it down. These are some of the issues that I've lacked the energy or care to put down, after the patch i've been a little disjointed in my responses and have been taking abit of a break from it all (like I said a few weeks until people work it out so they stop giving me 'how to win' pointers). I'll try take the time on this one.
For me the issue is that she is both OP broken & weak. When the patch/character dropped I think a lot of what I was saying was taken as I couldn't beat Hitokiri, quite the opposite.
Like I said awhile ago, she is too binary. She (like Goki) has an Achilles tendon (more of an Achilles throat) - if you have the tools to beat one then it becomes a cake walk, however you are now stuck playing what feels cheap & broken in order to win. If you try play fairly or with a character lacking that kit, you are in trouble
Sorry to all I started discussions with and abandoned, but like I said, a little break was needed. One of those discussions I referenced warlord hyperarmour as 'good'. Reason is there is a window the armour applies you have to deliberately aim with to use. Hyper armour from neutral should have particular windows. If Hitokiri is suppose to trade the heavies into lights, then the armour should start at x, and then end about 300ms later. You the player now have to think, plan & time to use the ability. In the warlord example, you will get hit by the light if you try trade on response. To me, +1 because I do still have the feint window available and its a 'do I let this one fly, have I convinced them to make a bad read yet' mental process.
The tiny GB window on Hitokiri combined with at will combo ending hyper armour light is the issue for me because you either
1) negate Hitikiris entire move set with a counter
2) get beaten on response
This isn't fun for me, I want to win in trades & reads, not play rock paper scissors. For this character pick the timing Hyper armour applies, not just 'when it turns on'. This allows reads in and around, what they are doing & getting hit is your own bad read.
One glaring hole in this character is bashes. You want to make this character more of an aggressive fun character in my opinion you need to add the window of hyper armour along with the windows of vulnerability to the character. You also need to speed up the dash forward heavy and make it a chain starter (at reduced damage) then give the option to softfeint into a dodge from charging you heavy.
Why? this lets you respond to responses, and vice versa for your opponent. Hitokiri can bait bash spam or softfeint into a dash forward heavy/combo to really feel like an aggressive wrecking ball (you aint getting away from me!) while also giving windows of vulnerability for a skilled opponent to work with. The guardbreak immunity to feint GB NEEDS to go, it renders one of the few tools that should be available to say an orochi or PK redundant and makes them struggle very, very hard (hence OP broken part).
The stamina cost for a heavy is too low, cost for a feint too high. These need to be leveled a tad so that she can play some decent mind games.
@ Raime - one thing to take into your mind is that you are being loyal to a game that is not loyal back. Just take it in your stride, roll with the punches and if it all gets to much go watch something funny on youtube. You are right, we are not their beta testers, we do not ow them *&^%. I learnt that one the hard way, loyalty should be repaid with loyalty. If not, then just stop offering that loyalty.
I have backed off from the game but reading the disheartened posts in this thread I suppose I am lucky, I've played this game long enough and at high enough levels with out of meta characters, no emote spamming, and no cheap tactics that I get apologies from people I don't even know asking me to rematch so they can play fair with a cent, or something similar (what they like to play, not just what they have the play to survive). The one that got me back was in one of my first games trying the game again I got a message saying they vs'd me in dominion many times and I was extremely fun to vs, kinda nice from someone I don't even know. It was in a duel, they apologized for raider & asked for a rematch. We rematched me many times, we played the whole roster and had alot of fun.
There are good people still in the game, and like I said to that player. Honors not dead, its just hiding![]()
