She's new, people complain a lot even when it's unnecessary. It takes some time to adapt and she'll probably end up being on the low end of some duel tier list soon and only shine in Breach/Dominion.

I'm a bit worried about the other 2 new heroes. Both harbingers we've got are extremely simple in terms of playstyle. We've got an edgelord that bashes and pancake flips opponents and a "ghostly" executioner that does a neat backflip but is basically the lovechild of Shugo and Aramusha.

Am I wrong in saying both the Wu Lin and all the Year 1 DLC heroes had way more depth to them? the harbingers seem rushed.

I'm holding out hope that they saved the best harbingers for last. :/

P.S. the most satisfying thing I've done as Hitokiri so far is charging a heavy through a Berserker's zone attack, his reaction was perfect (I was in party chat with him ^^)
I still enjoy her despite how awful she is just because most players haven't figured out/lack the capability to deal with her consistently. But i mainly play 4's these days where you can get away with a lot more. The few times i've taken her into duels it was an abysmal experience.

I actually feel like Black prior was the best designed hero they've ever made. I have my own issues with his kit still, but I really enjoy how his kit flows with itself. I don't feel forced into playing a specific way with him. He's got all the right tools but doesn't feel overly oppressive. Hitokiri could have been like this as well since she also has the flexibility to do whatever in her kit. It's just that several tools in her kit are either just plain bad or do not play with other parts of her kit. So instead of having this aggressive psuedo infinite combo person we end up with a trader that's unfun to play against decent players.

I have high hopes for the other two heros though. The wu-lin in particular. They created a whole new faction out of thin air and 2 of the 4 heros came out amazingly well. JJ despite his flaws is still a solid design for 4s. And Nuxia while being incredibly underwhelming with her tool kit is the first and only team centric assassin. Which is nice to have because assassins have never been great in team fights. they're just really good at single picks.

The viking will probably be good as well. Shaman was the second best addition to the roster. Vikings have never been as well off as the knights have but they've always had overall better treatement and heros compared to the samurai.

I disagree on BP being the 'best designed hero', but I respect your opinion. Imo he feels really bland and I'm not feeling the "flow". I've already got the same amount of reps on my Hitokiri as my BP and I intend turning her into one of my mains.
This is pure bias though on my part

In my opinion Shaman, JJ and Shaolin are the best additions to the game. These heroes have a moveset that really flows and have options to play tricks with their opponent.

I have high hopes for the Wu Lin hero as well, because I intended to only buy him/her.
I'm afraid that the Viking hero will be extremely similar to Hitokiri: hyperarmor, but a turtle that can be backdodged out of.

P.S. here's the outline of the two upcoming heroes:

Hmm. interesting group of people you chose. I really like Shaolin but he's just missing what I want out of him. he feels too...linear.
JJ I absolutely do not like beyond visuals. He's fun to play as but annoying to fight in single picks.

imho the viking's gimmick will be command grabs and wu-lins will be armor crush.
Where did you get that image btw?

I actually like fighting JJ's in duel, he can be GB'ed out a lot of stuff. I said Shaolin because his moveset is really complex and I feel like it takes quite some skill to play him effectively.

I found this GIF on reddit. i was looking for the outlines in the Season's pass (the recent version zoomed in on them), but couldn't find it.

His moveset has the potential to be complex but falls short IMHO.
    And interesting.

I found the pic I was looking for!!!

It was from a WD recap so it's legit

    https://www.reddit.com/r/forhonor/co...jan_10th_2019/

.. not sure why it's the WD from January 10th. They probably updated the pic?

It’s a shame really. Seeing a brand new hero worked on so horribly. I really do think the samurai have gotten the short end of the stick when it comes to actually fighting. Sure they have the gimmicks but they haven’t had a ridiculously strong fighter in their history.

The closest that I remember being a super strong character was Shinobi when he came out and that was just because he has higher damage numbers.

Kensei needed a rework and has a few relics in his kit.

roach needed a rework and still has several issues.

nobushi herself is a hidden gem with cracks if I were to describe her. She is strong is used right but conventional methods of combat are not her strong suit. She still had changes.

Goki needed a rework and his new one is super strong on one side of the argument while being downright useless on the other.

Aramusha has backdodge syndrome while his best tools are locked behind a full block.

Shinobi is on the weaker side of things as far as regular fights go. His ranged style shouldn’t be in the game currently with how it works. However his 4v4 presence is infamous. I also believe he has the last lockdown move in the game with his sickle rain.

Hitokiri I won’t really touch on since raime did it already. I’m disappointed to say the least.

I’ve taken more breaks from this game recently and have a harder time getting back into it. It’s starting to become a chore to fight sometimes. I’m holding out whatever improvements that Hito might get, or even future reworks for the faction.

I’ve moved on to be excited for the Wu Lin hero. I’m not really a huge Viking fan other to play a powerful hero that actually works but unfortunately I’m expecting the Viking to get all the tricks and perhaps even stay strong regardless of what he/she is or plays as.

Sheesh Raime, based on some of your most recent posts, for your own health, I really, really recommend you just bite the bullet, and uninstall For Honor. At least until August, if that.

So many of you guys are feeling now, what I started feeling like a year and a half ago, and the only solution to not go completely insane, is take a good, long step back and really just forget the game exists.

Just a quick one re: MK11. I did jump in and IMO, probably the best MK to date. I have played the thing to death recently so take the rest with a grain of salt... but I've almost cleared the Krypt, been maining scorpion and have pretty much 75% of the skins unlocked for him, with at least 5 or so skins/gear pieces for characters I haven't even touched yet, and every character feels pretty unique and deep.

The community is ANGRY when they lose, sometimes even when they win... Probably the worst I've seen. I like to play on even if I'm losing over and over again to find a way through a better player but haven't had a single positive player yet. Gameplay wise though I'm very happy, kombos don't give you the win, and a smarter game is there because of it. The update was much needed, and some things are still a grind. Every game is these days. I think MK is at the edge, sitting squarely in acceptable re that grind but is still a good time. Just my 2 cents.

His mixups needs a change. It to Easy to backdodge or roll away from. You cant really do anything in 1vs1 against a decent player with him. He is really good at stomping noobs in dominion though and pretty good at ganking but tjats about it. The legsweep is so slow aswell and only confirm a light, a high risk move with bad reward isnt good.
