The rest of the missions I've had no issue at all with so far - until this one.
In extreme difficulty, without firing a single shot nor killing any civilians, deploy to Aqua Verde Alpha and complete the mission, "The Casino"
Now, the slot machines are easy enough to destroy with an EMP - but how the hell are you supposed to destroy the tables. The only method I can think of without shooting is via explosives - and it is GUARANTEED that the civilians will either get caught in the explosion - or run directly into it - and you can't melee the damn things either.
As a last resort I'm about to grab a motorbike to see if I can get that in there to ram into the tables to destroy them - and hope like hell that the civilians aren't as suicidal as usual - because I've just spent the last 3 bloody hours trying everything else I can think of...
EDIT : Now the bloody civilians are randomly spawning in my direct path and dying instantly. I guess that means the challenges are over and done with for me this week...
The Rebels help to clear out the casino (mostly), and I'm sure you probably know you can use sync shots and CQC as long as you don't fire a shot yourself.
For the tables, use a jeep. It's small enough to make a right turn through the arched opening of the front side room. I would check for civvies first, and aim your gun at them to scare them away if they're in the room.
Ubi are terrible at end game content though.
I eventually managed to get it sorted out - but i can confirm that motorbikes have zero effect on the tables. All that happens is you go flying off them.
I eventually managed to do the mission by spending ages pushing the civilians out the doors (and then they'd usually try to walk back in right away unless I kept blocking their path for 5 minutes...) until I had the space to take out the tables one or two at the time with a grenade.
One civilian did die eventually - but that was due to the motorbike exploding rather than any of my grenades - so the game didn't count it due to it being a secondary explosion.
Now, no offence, Ubisoft - but the next time you want to do a mission like that, go and [INSERT LONG CENSORED MESSAGE 5 PARAGRAPHS LONG]. If I have to spend over 4 hours constantly retrying to do a mission that WOULD be simple to do if you capable of doing melee damage to objects thanks to idiotic AI and near-impossible limitations, I think I'll just take my money elsewhere - and I've been playing Ubisoft games for decades now.
Use grenades. They have a lesser blast force and radius.Originally Posted by gunbladelad Go to original post
As I said I did eventually get it done - but the fact that your melee attacks do nothing to objects is just silly. Added to the fact that you can't shoot at all during the mission and nothing I did aside from spending time nudging the civilians until they were far away enough that I could use explosives (I include grenades in this classification) helped.
There were several runs as well where I took the time to clear a room out, double and treble-checked it - only for a random civilian to suddently spawn right on the spot I was throwing the grenade as I was mid-animation.
You could say it was rather frustrating.
Give me 100 weeks of "Melee the Yeti and the Predator" challenges before you do this kind of stuff again...
And ironically it took you so long due to your own impatience to read replies here that quite frankly came rather expediently.Originally Posted by gunbladelad Go to original post
I agree it's a challenge with bad design, but your misuse of your own thread is no better, and just a waste of people's time and forum space.
I had to look at the first post and check the date. AveryFreeman, you missed the post date by almost 4 months now. Maybe a late night or early morning post.
