    Rethinking the Division Corssover

Spec Ops 1- Sam Fisher Crossover, the beginning of the Skell Tech conspiracy.
Spec Ops 2- R6 Crossover, continuing the Skell Tech conspiracy.
Spec Ops 3- Future Soldier Cross over same as the above while setting up the future a bit.
Spec Ops 4- Division crossover with some more skell tech stuff.

Now when the Division crossover happened, I wondered what the link was to the future of GR, and many of you said there was none, because different universe. I now feel somewhat vindicated, there was indeed a clue to the future of GR in the Division crossover. GRB appears to be, essentially, a reskinned Division Game. Classes, tiered loot drops, equipment levels, raids, scrounging and crafting.

I still can't wrap my head around crafting weapon attachments in a tent, but there you have it. Yay realism.

    Read all about it:
    https://www.pcgamesn.com/ghost-recon...eplay-features

They talk about the resource gathering nodes, the crafting, the tiered loot drops,
The environment is more deadly this time around as you can contract semi-permanent injuries, but you can also disguise yourself using your surroundings, and there are even crafting resources to harvest across the island...
No specific details have been given on how you actually contract injuries and if specific actions will lead to certain injuries. However, you will have the ability to fix your ailments either by returning to your bivouac or by using bandages and syringes.

In addition to standard injuries, Ubisoft says you’ll now experience hunger, thirst, combat stress, and fatigue, although we’re yet to see these in action.
At least we start with some gear. They don't just drop us down in our birthday suits with a rock like in Rust.

Bone_Frog when I saw and heard of injury system, the first thing I thought was - o.m.g. - Arma ACE Medical System, serious gaming coming!!.. And now i see this BS about tiered drops and leveling equipment and it just ... destroys everything.
At first they did this with Far Cry. Now they do the same with Ghost Recon?
When I want to play Division - I launch Division...

I don’t get why they had any of those cross-overs in the first place. It’s not like there weren’t plenty of unexplored mission options they could have done exploring the Cartel, Unidad politics, and drug angles.

It seems clear to me now that Ubisoft never really understood what they had that was so magical about Wildlands. It had no real identity, strategy or place among their other franchises. They clearly didn’t really get it or just didn’t care. So they just polluted it with bizarre and funky ideas from other games or Narco Road.

It’s hard to imagine what appeared on the boardroom whiteboard when they reviewed the success of Wildlands under “What Went Well”. I don’t think they know despite all the telemetry they collected. It almost seems like the only positive take away they got from Wildlands is that these players like their tactical gear. The rest of what made Wildlands great was lost on them.

And as you point out, except for the Predator, all of these cross-overs introduced some Skell Tech link. Which leads me to believe that Wildlands was some kind of interim experiment or hold-over and that a Skell Tech plot has been in the works for a very long time.

I honestly think this new game bears so much resemblance to other games in plot and mechanics only because they didn’t get the magic of Wildlands with its amazing setting and great sense of realism and thus resorted to what has been successful with other franchises.

Somewhere, someone within Ubisoft, understands the brilliance that was Wildlands, but they must be long gone now. Where is Dan Hay?
