So basically I've been playing this game since the alpha and yes, I have run into tons of problems with the game through all my time playing it, most of which have been fixed after the implication of the dedicated servers but I've never had the game straight up not let me connect to the servers from the title screen, until this new title update 2.08 came out.. Now my game wont contact the servers, it always loads for a minute and then says "Critical error, Ubisoft servers are unreachable at this time". (7-00000004) is the error it always says.. The game has always been playable until this update so I don't know what it could be..
I have the same router with all the same setting and everything but the game just suddenly wont work past the contacting servers screen and I'd love some help, thank you.

Yeah I've tried everything at my disposal, it just doesn't make sense that the game all of a sudden doesn't work after the update, the game has never done this before and I literally played it every day leading up to this update (I was grinding steel to get Sakura) then as soon as the update came, I updated it, then boom I can no longer contact the servers. Heck I even tried uninstalling the game for the heck of it and that didn't fix it either. Tried hard resetting everything, power cycling my router multiple times, I even tried the "port forwarding" option and all that did was turn my NAT type strict and I had to undo all my stuff for like 3 hours to finally fix it and get it back to normal.. Can we just go back to before the update, when I could actually play? lmao. I'm trying hard to not come off as a ****** but you gotta understand my frustration here, played it for years, now I don't even know if I'll be able to play it again because of this issue :c

Hey Apastrons, thanks for the additional information. If your NAT type changed to strict it may be that the port forwarding was set up incorrectly or there are other network issues at fault here.

Here's more information on setting up port forwarding, I'd recommend going through those steps again and ensuring UPnP (Universal Plug And Play) is also enabled on your router.

Just wanted to come back here to say that For honor to this day, still doesn't work. STill gives me the same "Fatal error" every ingle time since the day the "Hitokiri" update launched.. Game worked fine every day before the update.. it's been 3 months since I posted about having this problem and it still isn't resolved. Literally have no option but to uninstall it and be done, which is ridiculous.. I had a talk with a technician that my isp sent out and he said the router they provide me with doesn't even support UPnP so that's out the window. Talked with him about the port forwarding and my router just has a bunch of pre set ones to choose from and he and I both pretty much didn't know what to do there. I tried port forwarding multiple times to no avail soo yeah..

Hug me brother! I have this issue since december! But since then, the only answer I got, was "Sorry, we have no news about this" Or " The Dev teams, know about this and are working on it"
Yeah after 8 months, still nothing, so don't get your hope to high.

I'll be sure to give it another shot and let ya know. Because I really don't want to give up on this. Been playing the game frequently since the Alpha lmao, I enjoy it aside from the quite toxic community.

Lmao that sucks BROTHER, because I genuinely enjoy the game. I don't want to have to uninstall and be done with it. Hopefully we both get this resolved soon
