Thoughts on bringing AI teammates back or not

Here's a clip confirming it if anyone was looking (I'm the person who asked btw): https://clips.twitch.tv/RepleteDrabHornetOptimizePrime

I feel like AI companions are a staple for the series. Granted somewhat lacklustre squad command options in Wildlands, I was really hoping to see a big step forward in that regard. Especially as -regardelss of what they're doing with raids and whatnot- Breakpoint is a single player title, with co-op and pvp as additions to that, unlike The Division for example. And as they must be putting a large portion of their work into squadplay (If it's almost the biggest part of the reveal, its a core game pillar imo), it feels wierd for, honestly, what has to be most players to not experience that.

Also, from the gameplay reveal, it looks like a completely solo experience would either SEVERELY limit your options (for example no vehicle combat anymore). I get that they wanted to give a cool predator/lone wolf -style feel to fully solo play, but not giving players like me (who don't have friends who play GR, and also game at wierd houors due to work etc), and probably many others, even the option to have AI teammates feels like they're going to make me miss out on most of what the game has to offer. From a gameplay perspective atleast.

Not to mention many missions might be near- unplayable at higher difficulties without backup, if Wildlands is anything to go by. Breakpoint doesn't really feel balanced for a solo experience. Yea you'll be able to sync-shot, but that was honestly the least interesting part about your teammates in Wildlands. The revival mechanic, squad commands, and the dialouge were what made them "dynamic" to play with, for lack of a better word. So it's sad to lose all that, yet still have the puzzle game nature of the sync-shot left, which I feel is going to be exploited even more if you are forced to play even safer and take even less risks, since (I assume) you're basically screwed if things go sour and you're left without backup now.

And finally, the CUSTOMIZATION! This might only be a big deal for me rahter than anyone else, but I spend houors in Wildlands, customizing not only Nomad, but the rest of my team to mach; It's almost half the enjoyment for me. And I'm not gonna lie, I'm pretty attached to them, especially (my) Midas. Seeing that the new ghost team matched my Wildlands one, almost to a tee, made me real giddy, until I found out that they won't be joining me.

Seeing as the game comes out in five months, I hope they find time to sort something out. And I honestly don't care if it clashes with the story, or if it's not the default way to play the game. Just implementing an on/off button somewhere hidden in a menu so we at least have the option is more than enough, in my opinion.

Everything else about the game looks amazing, looking forward to it.

I'll buy the game when it has a customizable team.

They should bring back the next AI team mates.

Ubi should get rid of The Division entity that they applied on Ghost Recon Breakpoint and bring back the Ghost Recon Wildlands core but with improvements.

I for one hate the HUB, playing with random people, and having to be connected to the internet all the time to play.

So yeah, I would like to have the AI team mates back that is fully customizable.

I really enjoyed the team mates in Wildlands, sync shot was a huge reason i kept playing. I for one would love them to come back in breakpoint. I dont have any friends so nice to have the AI, pretend friends and im not being sarcastic. Without the AI team mates im not sure this will get the huge amount of hours wildlands got and is still getting from me.

I feel the AI teammates were one reason everyone loved Wildlands. Its different and unique and set Wildlands apart from similer games. Maybe not have them at the start but earn them or free them 1 by 1 in missions.

    AI Teamates

No question AI team mates was a Huge Draw for me in Wildlands. I loved being able to get a little more mileage out of having them. I started with the original Far Cry, my all time favorite until Wildlands and played all of them. I loved the gameplay of the original and that theme kinda followed them all . There were a few odd adds here and there but in general they were all a blast! When I purchased Wildlands, it quickly became my favorite hands down! I was hoping Breakpoint would follow that theme, but I see a lot of things that just don't seem to feel right in Breakpoint. I really enjoy the open world, and the graphics are awesome [just got a new RTX2080]. A lot of bugs in OTT but then again, its OTT and we were all warned about that. It will be interesting to see how the game evolves and I'm sure I will buy it. The question remains how much will I enjoy it? I binge played it this weekend and wish I could play longer to get a better idea, but it has been fun!

Agreed, I don't have a real life squad to play with, I just want to enjoy it as an SP game with AI squadmates, as you say with more squad control options than Wildlands.

I just want to be able to order the AI into various formations, AND take out targets of opportunity, without breaking stealth, simply by entering their area of responsibility.
