For Honor should no go Frenzy

We all know that FH has been labeled as a Fighting Game, and that is fine because it covers the characteristics of that type of games. In the recent years we have witnessed evolution in the fighting games: going for frenzy mechanics.

Injustice, MK, Dragon Ball fighterZ, tekken, guilty gear, killer instinct use this in a 2D perspective and they are having a good success, and it works. I’m afraid that Ubisoft is trying to do something similar with For Honor...but you know? It will fail.

In the other games it works because it is in 2D, and basically you only have two defensive positions: standing and crouch. So, when the opponent is attacking you (in this new frenzy style), you have to choose if you are going to block up or down.

If for Honor we have three defense positions, and also we have the faints (and soft faints) plus unblockable attacks and hyper armor.....

Ubisoft with new characters and reworks is giving too many tools to people go frenzy attacking with mixes too complex to be able to cover or react to.

These 400ms and 500ms light attacks and possibilities of chaining almost everything into anything is way too frenzy for a third person game with 3 points of defense/attack......I understand that Ubisoft is trying to follow the tendency of other fighting games, but for honor should keep its own peace and nature.

100% Agree with you on this, light spam and high stamina pool are now reigning king on this once skill based game. It is now turning into a button mashing game of chance. I would take turtle meta any day over what this gong show is turning into.

Rep 70 Raider main here and I liked him better pre-rework
