PvP Conflict changes alarmed me a bit. Skills get a damage modifier but TTK goes up, which sounds a bit like nothing changing at all. Other than that barely a peep out of them on Skills. Even the part where they sounded suprised that some people actually prefer Skill Builds is just a bit depressing.Originally Posted by xcel30 Go to original post

Agree to an extent about the devs pandering to casuals, but disagree about the pve part of it.Originally Posted by CJ Fresh Go to original post
Everyone has their preference in any game, to put the blame on directly or indirectly on any given group suggests the assumption of ownership of the game but 1 group, which is definitely not the case, it wasn't in TD1 and certainly isnt in TD2. In a game with both PvE and PvP, there will always be those who engage in exclusively one activity or the other. As a self proclaimed "PvE'er" in TD2, I can wholeheartedly say that yes, I am afraid to go into the DZ, my DZ rank is only 22 and I have 400hrs in this game. Am I a wuss? Sure, if that's what you wanna call it I'll take it. I call it PTSD from TD1 where we were forced into the DZ for virtually any meaningful progression. Im also confident that because of my experience with TD1, they could do anything to the DZ in TD2 and you are still not gonna see me anywhere near it and I know I'm far from alone in this stance. This of course also means that the devs are wasting their time trying to make the DZ friendlier for PvE'ers and should wake up, realize this fact and go all in and make the DZ heaven for PvP. I genuinely hope they do one day, honestly, cos I hate being blamed for the inadequacies of content that I couldn't care less about.
On another note, speaking of playing the entirety of the game, since you brought it up. In both games the DZ is much smaller than the LZ, in both games the DZ has literally 2 activities, farming landmarks and farming each other, and the LZ has everything else. Also in both games, pvpers spent 90% of the time in the DZ for obvious reasons, and somehow we are talking about playing a game in it's entirety? Sure, whatever you say. I played 600+hrs of TD1, not too much but I think its enough for me to have a very good idea of how TD1 worked and experience all aspects of it extensively(unfortunately). Of these 600+hrs, possibly more than half of it was spent in the DZ simply because that's how the game worked. So yea, I most definitely did cut and run out the door, after spending some 300+hrs exclusively playing content I didn't like at all, but I guess that isn't enough perseverance for your standards, oh well, cant please everyone.
Of course, this concept applies both ways, and the difference and also the reason why PvP'ers get to sit on their high horses pointing fingers at everyone is because the content you like involves far less actual content, and judging by the enormous pedestal you guys put TD1's pvp on, they must have gotten it quite right in TD1. Getting pvp good enough for the pvpers literally involves getting 1 thing right, thereafter it's infinitely replayable and you get everything you want and will never quit. Get this 1 thing wrong though... like they have in TD2 and guess who's likely to be out the door this time? Welcome to the club of disappointment in your content of choice, us pve'ers have been in here for years. Maybe you'll decide to step into the other 70% of the game and play it in its actual entirety instead of just staying in the DZ this time? Or you could quit, I'm sure the pve'ers wouldn't hold it against you, we can certainly empathize.
