Mine too. She was frustrated with tier 4 and I dragged her through to tier 5 but she once again gave up.Originally Posted by Wavaryen Go to original post
I'm not casual, and i guarantee you that is the right decision. I hear you asking why, ok i will tell you why. If the raid has the highest gs items and these items actually roll higher stats than other items in the game, then there is no purpose to playing anything other than the raid except for maybe gathering materials etc.Originally Posted by CJ Fresh Go to original post
If the gearscore of raid loot is higher but has no impact because the stats are basically the same as other 500 loot, simply proves the current controversy that gs is indeed irrelevant in the game. If gs is irrelevant then what is the motivation to go for 515 or whatever score raid loot is?
What they need to do with regard to the raid is have unique loot and cosmetics that fall there. Gear talents that you can only get from the raid. Also they can tighten the spread of stats on raid loot so you get consistent high quality loot from raid e.g. regular mask can fall with dte rolls from 25 to 50. Raid mask can fall with dte roll from 35 to 50. This way raid loot will consistently be of usable quality.
While all other activities still remain relevant, the raid on weekly reset will be the premier location for improving your build. A similar thing can be done for odz, and heroic content outside of the raid which has lockout, but in lesser effect. So say ODZ and heroic masks will fall 30 to 50.
Back to the raid loot though, i am suggesting something along the lines of new brand sets that can fall ONLY within the raid, and these brand sets can have a few unique talents rolled as well. Doesn't have to roll all the time either. Maybe you get the unique talent maybe you get hard hitting. Rng roll determines.
There are much better ways to design a loot system than simply lazily increasing gear score. So my incentive to grind the raid is to chase after the same berzerk, unstoppable builds but just at a higher gs and with basically a few thousand more armor and maybe 1% extra of stats like DTE or HS dmg? No thank you
The raid is delayed after the update because most peoples current setup may be broken, that's understandable.Originally Posted by CJ Fresh Go to original post
Not everyone cares about chasing a constantly higher GS as it's not an MMO so you shouldn't feel the necessity to feed your online ego to other players about your "achievements". The raid has exclusives which is the incentive required to want to bother with it rather than a mere number.
It'd be nice if everything we didn't like we could get a refund for but the world doesn't work like that.
They want more sales, money is always the deciding factor when you look on the other side of the fence.
It may insult and bore most of the Gud gamers. Personally I have 350 hours in the game on three different characters, all above 500GS.
But, when the family gets involved, and the casuals start buying copies, we are in for it, not only in this game but most all games these days.
I stopped playing Div2 a week ago. Now playing Sekiro:Shadows Die Twice. I am having an absolutely great time with it. The best game FromSoftware has made to date imo.
Anyway, there are options out there for those of us who crave a challenge. And Um, No they wont be offering the EASY option or anything remotely softening the game.
My wife was upset too, cause she's sick of me playing this damn game so much. If I could just finish my build I could farm less and do more honey do list.Originally Posted by Wavaryen Go to original post
solo players sit at 500GS till the power creep comes in. Otherwise stop being antisocial and raid.Originally Posted by AlphaTellurian Go to original post
The PVP player base needs to realize that the majority of the player base is PVE. The majority of the content in the game is PVE. Yes, it’s a PVE / PVP game, but the main focus has always been PVE. So for those saying that after today people will leave, I don’t see that as the case. If anything, the PVP community seems upset that the devs didn’t leave the 515 gear in the DZ for them to pester the PVE player base in that game mode. Question - had they left the 515 gear in the DZ, what would that have done for Conflict or the other PVP mode? PVE players are already not queuing for that, so how would it have helped the PVP player base? It would not have.
Today, Yannick gave me what I’ve been asking ever since Division 1... Options.
- 500 gear will be the highest gear score, no GS increase so now people only need to find drops with the stats they need for recalibration; not just drops to simply increase your GS, THEN find the stats you need. That change helps everyone.
- 500 gear will drop in the DZ as contaminated gear.
- 500 gear will also drop from L4 Control Points, Bounties, Heroic, Dailies, etc.
- 500 gear will also drop from the raid along with a new exotic, new gearsets, vanity items, increased loot drops.
How does this help the “PVP” player base? The DZ is still the “quickest” way to potentially obtain 500 drops. Every other mode takes time but players will eventually get them. The DZ now returns to what it always has been. A risk. A gamble. So yes, they WILL be PVE players in there. I’m just finally glad the devs returned to giving us OPTIONS instead of repeating the mistakes that they made in Division 1. The DZ is the least of the PVP player bases’ problems. The PVP player base should be asking for “more variety of game modes”.
I just find it hilarious that some players are saying the game will die when the majority of the player base, in a PVE / PVP game, is PVE. The majority of the game modes are PVE related. When the devs begin making nerfs and buffs that are due to adjusting PVP, that will “affect” PVE (the main player base), is when the game will begin to have population issues. The proof? The PVP dev guys claiming the BEST gear (515) only drops in a PVE / PVP game mode.
THAT almost screwed this game up for everyone. And Massive quickly shut that nonsense down.
Just my two cents.
