Build - WIP - need advice

First a little bit out the character.
Level 30, still in story mode (so WT0 is suppose?)
I'm working on gathering the right gear to increase my chances on staying alive as long as possible but still do a decent amount of damage.
The weapons i have equipped are an assault rifle and a marksmanship rifle.
My skills are the reviver hive and usually the Striker drone. When i stack a few deaths on a mission i change the drone for the reinforcer chem launcher.

Now below is my wishlist gear and talent wise while i'm working my way up to end game content.

The items marked in red are what i want.
Those in blue i'm unsure of. Those make sense i'd go for but maybe there are better alternatives?

Those items in yellow are which i already have.

    Build wish list

So, feel free to give my tips/pointers

    Not really a good build.

Badger Tuff gear usually doesnt have any talents, but only attributes. If you want Badger Tuff for the 7% Damage against Elites, then its pointless compared to maybe Airaldi that gives you 10% accuracy and has the possibility for the Hard Hitting passive talent, which gives you 15% Damage against Elites.

    Cloaked is not good.

Your build is just a worse variation of the facetank build of the past, with AR + Chatterbox and Berserk, Clutch, Safeguard. Doesnt really work that good anymore, since they gave Safeguard a cd.

The current problem with building is the fact, that gear is quite distinctive. Whereas high end weapons always have 3 talents, high end gear brands dont share the same system. Like i said before, Badger Tuff usually doesnt have any talents, which makes it the worst, because even passive talents are usually way better than attributes. Some gear pieces of a brand only have one active talent, the other brand with the same gear piece can have an active talent and a passive talent. This doesnt show in the current spreadsheets, so its quite pointless to build something with those spreadsheets.

Learned it the hard way, after i spent much time in theorycrafting builds only to find out that they would never work, just because of the gear pieces.

The only thing i can tell you, if you are a pve player, get yourself the active talents patience + safeguard. They drop on kneepads and backpacks only. With this you have a good enough passive armor regen in cover, that you never need to use healing skills anymore. On everything else you get the passive attribute Hard Hitting, or if you want to be fancy, you can get something more specific, like Headshot Damage or Critical Hit Chance on gloves and holsters. With that you are good to go against anything what the game throws at you on the highest difficulty in endgame.

I went for Badger Tuff fir the 15% armor on kill bonus.
I haven't thought about looking for talents being available on certain sets so back to the drawing board

Armor on Kill isnt worth it, same as Hazard Protection and all the other crap. Sadly.

The only thing you should look out for is weapon damage and headshot damage for weapon builds, explosion damage and cooldown reduction for skill builds. Crit builds are overall weaker than weapon damage and headshot damage. As pve player, you should also stack Damage to Elites. Around 60% is enough, which is easily obtainable via a mask with around 30% DtE on attributes + Hard Hitting and a second Hard Hitting on another gear piece.

That said, the game is quite easy on challenging difficulty in the endgame, so easy that basically every build should somewhat work.

So stacking DtE is the way to go.
Is clutch worth it then when there is less focus in crit?

And is there a soft / hard cap on stats?

Here we go with the cookie cutter build. Stop telling OP to build another cookie cutter build. Tanks will VERY MUCH be a thing after the PTS changes go live. Don't forget he is still in WT0 where balance is still a thing. In WT0 you can basically do whatever you want and be viable. My buddy runs a non talent build in WT5 and literally MELTS named bosses on HEROIC in seconds in a 4 man group and he can melt the boss in under 4 seconds solo with ALL chest shots sooooo not sure what Medicles is on about with talents which are mostly getting nerfed in the near future.

Not really, it was somewhat worth in the facetanking build i mentioned earlier, but that got "destroyed". It was also more of a pvp build.

Yeah, there are some soft/ hard caps, but i dont know every cap. The only one i know for sure is the 60% Critical Hit Chance.

Like i said before, the game is so easy that basically every build works. But some are just better than others. Your example should be a lie though, only attributes and no talents means only one attribute for DtE which should be around 30%. The only other damage attributes you can get on every gear are critical hit chance and critical hit damage, on two you can get weapon damage, on one headshot damage and one with specific weapon damage. But all of those attributes should be rolled rather weak, because of all the attributes. But since Badger Tuff is the only brand with guaranteed no talents and has only 3 gear pieces, your friend has to have at least three other gear pieces with talents. So you are obviously lying.

Edit: Or he uses three set brand gears, which dont have talents too, but then you are truly lying about melting a heroic boss alone in 4 seconds.

You don't need a lot of DtE. You focus on BASE damage and when you mutiply it it ends up getting MUCH bigger. Test it out.
Also fire rate with chatterbox is a thing... just saying.
His test range DPS hit 4.4. million. he averages 4 million un-buffed up from chatterbox

I am almost at endgame with a gear score of 495 and I never once worried about a build.

I just equipped the highest gear score items that dropped and I've never had an issue.

I did make a skill build once and it was actually pretty powerful for solo content but since I group a lot I just went back to the normal way.

I think it's neat that you can play solo with rarely ever having to fire a shot though.

That turret will absolutely melt enemies if you spec for it but like I said, that is really only effective for solo play since groups move too fast for you to set up.

What I'm trying to say is that this game really doesn't require you to make a build unless you are a min/max type of person. You will be just fine running with your favorite weapon and just playing the game.

If you kill something in five seconds compared to seven does it really matter in the end?

Melt enemies? Solo? No sir you have not seen "melt" until you put on a "good" DPS gun build in SOLO. There you will see "melt". Assault turret does it's job but it is FAR from "melt". Melt is one to two bullets (body shots) from your gun. The turret takes roughly 10 to drop a n enemy. This is not "melt". At all. Please do not start this rumor. It does well but far from "melt" in the easiest mode in the game (SOLO play).
2 bullets does not take 5 seconds.... it takes less than 1 second.
