Immersion breaking? That wouldn't explain the current effects we've been able to purchase. However, appropriate toggle options would address any concerns with distractions and reduced immersion. That way the experience would be more client-based than global. Remember, we already have toggle options for the current effects, blood, and dismemberments in the UI menu.

They are far too distracting for me, I wouldn't use them in combat. Still, for idling or out of lock movement it's a good idea.

I wanna say, though - for the one day the Star Wars effects were active in For Honor, it still had the best lightsaber combat out of any SW game to date.

Yeah, but it's the same three people that are constantly complaining about it on this board. If you saw the reddit next to no one was complaining about it. You could say the same thing about the 'immersion breaking' in regards to idle effects/masks/execution effects but they're fun.

Conjuring a ring if fire as I kill my enemy? Realistic.
A Norse God blessing me with his visage as I strike down my foe? Realistic.
Monk quantum-fu teleporting to his target? Realistic.

A pretty glow on my sword? Nah, that's unrealistic.

I couldn't care less about the immersion, I have all the effects already turned off, I just find that it's harder to see unblockables and even certain heroes GB's.

It looks and sounds cool, it just makes the game harder for me personally.

Like I said, give an option to turn it off, and it would please everyone.

Cant we get an option to turn on or off the lightsabers for our own eyes, or enable it somewhere in the files, like a client sided effect realy loved those effects, but i do agree that its to immersion-breaking thats why i what to use it for my self.

This...this would be awesome. If the toggle can be applied I don’t see why it couldn’t be put in the game.

Yeah, can't have a flaming sword ruining my immersion. Now excuse me while I teleport my monk(ey) over to that gladiator standing yonder under a huge blue <A>, who was just striking poses that caused fireworks to go off behind him, and is now standing under his own small rain cloud. I plan on killing him so hard that the virtual reality will be breaking apart around him.

But seriously, I completely missed out on the awesome looking lightsaber tribute due to working pretty much the whole weekend. Please bring it (or something like it) back at some point.
