The main failure of the new ranking system is that it detracts new players from enjoying the game at lower levels because of rampant de-ranking. If the game cannot retain new players then it will fail in the long run.

There have been many problems described in regards to the new ranking system. I may be repeating a previous post but I specifially wanted to call out the ranking system in regards to how it affects new players.

I am a team leader and some of my players have been testing the game limits as I'm sure others have done. Here are some ridiculous aspects of the game that have been uncovered if you weren't already aware.

1. There seems to be no bottom when it comes to de-ranking. A player that normally resides in the high silver shields, around the 5700 skill level on average, was able to de-rank all the way down to skill level 800! They are a new kid level 16 and and at that skill level they were facing level 6-7 new kids. Not fun for those new kids that are just starting to play PvPs and learning the game!

2. When de-ranking to a lower skill level, the team wars matchups will also be against players of similar skill level. So players are de-ranking prior to doing their team wars matches to face low ranking players that are using a deck with all cards at friendly levels to get the maximum 114 points. Not fun for a new player trying the team wars for the first time and getting massacred!

3. The content of event packs are dependant on your skill at the time the pack is actually opened, not when pack is earned which is the case only for the battle pass tokens. The player that de-ranked to 800 completed the event and did a test, they opened some packs at a lower skill level which had nothing but items, then they went back up to a higher skill level to be able to unlock the cards available at that Arena level. All they were missing were some battle pass tokens. However, with better de-ranking management the missing battle pass tokens can be avoided

4. Battle pass tokens only count for skill level 3900 and up, many players have noticed high ranking players camping out in the 3900 - 4500 range making this a very tough barrier to cross for growing new kids

So basically players can de-rank to make their events and team wars easier by picking on and crushing noobs. We need noobs in the game, we need new blood!

SUGGESTION: bring back the de-ranking limits. Set the limits to allow players to de-rank to 1 level below their current level

- A player that has reached Legendary level 3 (Arena 13 with 7400 - 8099 skill) should be able to de-rank no lower than Legendary level 2 (Arena 12 starting at 6700 skill)
- A player that has reached Legendary level 2 (Arena 12 with 6700 - 7399 skill) should be able to de-rank no lower than Legendary level 1 (Arena 11 starting at 6000 skill)
- A player that has reached Legendary level 1 (Arena 11 with 6000 - 6699 skill) should be able to de-rank no lower than Silver Shield Arena 10 starting at 5300 skill
- A player that has reached Silver Shield Arena 10 (5300 - 5999 skill) should be able to de-rank no lower than Silver Shield Arena 9 starting at 4600 skill
- ETC...

De-ranking shouldn't be completely eliminated from the game as it serves a purpose but it needs to be better controlled by setting limits. The players that suffer the most from rampant de-ranking are the smaller / newer players players that have to deal with bigger players that are ruining the game for them
