Thank you for reporting this to us, Nazotech

Did you have Uplay installed before? Have you made sure that you removed any instances of it before trying to install the client? You can do that through Add/Remove programs.

    This is absolutely shocking.

It's 2021 and here I am again, fighting with this totally crap software that lets Ubisoft down so incredibly badly.

I just purchased Far Cry 5 from Steam and I'm stuck in this hellish limbo that I'd maybe expect TEN YEARS AGO, but not now.

    1. The connect software doesn't even auto update
    2. You need to run the installer with admin rights - my GOD, that's a security nightmare
    3. You are proposing to uninstall and then re-install? - what planet?

    FFS.

I am having multiple issues the same.

    1. A Ubisoft service is currently unavailable - this is when i try to log in on online mode

    2. after attempting to reinstall Ubisoft connect i get the "ubisoft connect error opening file for writing" error

So what do i need to do?

Thanks for taking my money though

Ubisoft service won't connect - error installing Ubisoft Connect loop

WTF??? Cannot play FarCry 5. First Uplay says that the service is not available, and then when I try to reinstall Ubisoft Connect, I cannot because of "Error opening file for writing". This is ridiculous.

Hi Ussek. I'd be glad to look into this issue with you. Can you please confirm that you've tried the second set of steps for Uninstalling Ubisoft Connect for me, so we're on the same page of how you uninstalled?
