Pve vs PvP PVP vs PVE. - New Forum Rule

    Suggested new forum rule.

I for one am getting fed up of the threads that sometimes but not always that when a thread with good intentions descends into a one play style vs another play style Toxic slanging match. The pve vs PvP debates have a very high probability of going Toxic and threads with toxicity inducing titles should be more closely monitored like the This play style or that play style will keep the game alive threads will 100% just go one way.

I would be happy they the mods come up with some guidelines when they will step in and just close the threads down (a be a bit more pro active than they currently are) to make this forum a better place to be. It would save me having to just ignore people to do a similar thing.

    Your thoughts?

So because you dislike what someone writes you think it should just be censored? That's not how free speech works. If you don't like it reply back with your objections or ignore it. Limiting free speech is never good.

And yet it does not seem to stop you from posting in those threads and stoking the fires of argument........

    Why is that?

How about leaving the forum management to the forum mods and if a post seems to offend your sensibilities to such an extent that you deem it necessary to open a thread wanting new rules telling others how to behave, well then, I’d advise you resort to the ‘Report Post’ tab as opposed to this particular avenue.

This thread should be locked, it's an anti pvp vs pve toxic rant, i suggest user should receive a lifetime ban.

The Moderators have other things to do - seriously, they work on individual requests like costumer support. Good thing that all of this posts are only temporary.

It's always what you made of it. I don't need a Mod to see who is okay and who is not. And I decide if I answer or not.

    Addendum:
There are kind people around here with a lot of understanding and maturity... and there is the opposite, do I need the last one, no, of course not.

Don't like the threads either, but if it is something players feel strongly about it needs to be discussed. The mods can pass on the feedback to the devs and maybe find solutiuons.

That's not how free speech works either. Ubisoft is not the government.

It's not just pve vs pvp ... condescension, veiled insults, not so veiled insults, tantrums run rampant in the forum, whether the thread is about the game in general, pvp, pve, pvp vs pve... If I were the head moderator of this forum, the first thing I'd do is post a list of words and phrases that will automatically elicit a removal of a post and a week's ban for the poster, until said poster learns to express themselves like and adult. Words and/or phrases like:
    git gud
    fire devs
    idiot devs
    cowards in the DZ
    lives in (mom's) basement
    lots of asterisks
    nn year olds
    game broken
    what where they thinking
    netcode
    get a life
    cry baby/whiner
    This or that is toxic/cancer/aids...
    Game is dead/trash
    ... and so on.

Drastic, sure, but in very few weeks, the forum will be a much better place, and who knows, maybe even devs will join the discussions.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with expressing displeasure for something, or pointing out something is not working as intended. But there is a lot to say about the language we use to express that displeasure.

And before anyone says anything about "free speech", please research the topic.
