I ended up beating this before on WT2 Challenging after running out of ammo at the start on WT4 Challenging. I was about 265 gear rating then, and am 273 now. I did a few loops of the 15 LZ Bosses so I got an Exotic Bullfrog and some good gear pieces, including a classified here and there (though am only using one so far). I already had an Exotic Heel from an introductory cache I opened, but forgot I had it for some time.
I still use the Turret and Seeker Mines, but this time I switched from Recovery Link to Survivor Link. Plus I swapped back and forth between mines and the ammo box at the starting area when the marked enemies come in. It took a long time, but I've yet to build a matched or even partial gear set, nor have I done any recalibrating or rolling. Nothing's maxed, it's just looted parts with looted mods.
The thing about the time was mostly figuring out the best ways to get through each section with what I had. A lot of it is positioning, and knowing when to advance and get aggressive. There were times in a few sections when I died and had to respawn that I worried it would be a very long grind, but then I'd get through it a lot quicker than I anticipated the next try.
Of course good gear and weapons help, along with understanding all the specs and how to put together a build (which I've yet to master), but I also think just knowing what tactics work well when you're playing tough missions is just as important. It can make a mediocre buildless loadout play a lot better than it probably should.
Daily Challenge Complete
Loadout (didn't use pistol except to shoot their Seeker Mines)
Gear 1
Gear 2
Active Talents (A work in progress getting my Firearms stat up)
Hours Played (Just under 147)

Thanks for the offer, but I'm intent on playing this game solo. Sometimes I ask for advice on best gear sets to build, but am finding YouTube guides to be pretty useful for that. It's a work in progress, but I'm slowly getting there.Originally Posted by Zato.68 Go to original post
Thanks, it was very tough to get through and a very long battle.Originally Posted by chrisonamission Go to original post
Russian Consulate has great level design and immersion. Had it not been for the nasty medics healing everyone, I'd have gotten it done a lot quicker. I suppose the Power Plant is going to be tough too, but I might try Lincoln Tunnel on WT5 Challenging next, as WT2 Challenging was a piece of cake. No medics though, that's the tough nut to crack.
I now have my Firearm stat high enough to have all my talents on my Exotic weapons active, but my High-end L86 still needs a higher Skill stat for one of it's talents.
Hate to brag or anything, but all of the challenge missions become very easy, if you just spec into right stats alone. Played through Warrengate challenge difficulty 10 times in a row once, to finish the weekly challenge and never died once. The trick is to have really high damage to elites and enemy armor damage. Make sure your mask and knee pads roll damage to elites. Gloves and body armor gives you pretty good enemy armor damage as well. Also, do not forget to check vendors for purple gear mods with damage to elites attribute. You can get up to +20% damage to elites from 5 purple gear mods alone! I also suggest having a predatory and destructive as weapon talents. Predatory keeps you alive and it even activates after you shoot out enemy seeker mines.
Not sure if you even read my OP, but I've yet to do any rolling or stat optimizing. I'm still grinding for a full gear set. I realize it's like cake once you max and roll, but most players advising that have not one but sometimes even multiple gear sets, and lots of exotic weapons. I have the exotic Heel and Bullfrog, but my Medved and Hildr I never use. I also at best only have 3 of the 6 pieces of any gear set, maybe two set types at most with 3. And I prefer to wait until I get a full Classified set, because those can be maxed twice.Originally Posted by orchunter88 Go to original post
My point is, any way you look at it, the game is designed to be a tedious grind, and a lot of credits and resources can be wasted maxing and rolling before you get what you want. I don't have endless credits and resources to waste like most whom do upgrade guides. Now if they at least had a sample upgrade station where they give you fake credits and resources where you could apply them then test them on clones you summons, similar to Dead Space 3's Crafting Arena, but not usable in game, THAT would make it a lot easier to judge what upgrading is worth doing while grinding. But no, Ubi had to make it a confusing, obnoxious grind. Worse yet, they're now even Divisionizing Ghost Recon with Breakpoint.
Dead Space 3 Weapon Crafting Arena
Mjolnir Testing (from weapon blueprint found in game)
Custom Chaingun/Shotgun with Acid Bath Attachment
^Even what most call the worst game in the Dead Space trilogy, is far superior to this game.
I just wrote up things you might want to pay attention to once you start rolling your gear. Purple mods with damage to elites roll have nothing to do with rolling by the way. And its also double field cache weekend at the moment of me posting this message, so... more field caches to for less grind for nowWhich means its best time for you to do all those missions and other events related to LZ.
Not sure I get what you mean by "damage to elites roll". What specifically do you mean by elites roll? It's just one more annoying reminder of how ridiculously confusing this game is. I can handle the complexity of some of the more popular RPGs, like Skyrim and Mass Effect, but this one is quite strange.Originally Posted by orchunter88 Go to original post
At any rate, I tried Lexington Event Center on Challenging WT5 since it was one of the daily challenges today, but the rooftop proved too daunting for my current weapons and gear. Then I came to an impasse trying to win on one of the tracks in Supercross 2 450cc class on Hard. So I reverted to playing Dead Space 3 again on Impossible mode. I might pick up Just Cause 4 just to get away from RPG for a while and have some good old arcade fun.
LOL, I just realized you meant a mod that rolls damage to elites, not an elite roll. Anyway, can't really wrap my head around more tedious looting right now. I need to vent with something fun before I blow a fuse. I personally think since Ubi has gotten so big they are getting farther from the pulse of their fanbase. Look at the Breakpoint forums and you'll see most don't like what has been revealed so far.
They're making it very Division-like. There's two petition threads. One requesting an offline mode, the other requesting squad AI. I really don't see how it makes sense that they take a game like GRW, which had mostly positive reviews since it's launch, and sully it's sequel with the formula used in TD, which has had mostly mixed reviews.
