I understand Ubisoft, you are trying to answer the prayers of your community, you are attempting to fix the balance of the cast. But how is this balance? This is even worse than when Centurion was OP. We don't need this, okay Ubisoft?
I wanted to quit when you buffed the Wu Lin, but now I adapted, but now I really want to quit
I get why you did it to Lawbringer, but why Raider? Why? And let's just pretend he needed the rework, but this was not necessary: damage buff, fast attacks, stunning tap from combos is unreactable, now he can soft feint zone into gb, so you're forced to guess. I get it, some characters have this and it's fine. But it's not just the gb you gotta watch out for, he can do a stunning tap as well, which is unreactable if you're blinded, and he can repeat it if he wants to, then chain into lights + zone + gb/tap and so on
He broke the game, I didn't expect this, reworking something does not mean it has to be Godly, it means it has to be viable
The best advice I can give you, dear developers, is DON'T rework characters one by one, if you're gonna rework someone that's weak, you have to take into consideration EVERYONE that is weak. I don't want to play Raider, I'm not a meta slave. I don't want to be forced to play something just as broken.
What about Centurion, Tiandi, Shinobi, Peacekeeper? Trying to beat a Raider in a 1v1 with CENTURION feels impossible now, his kit is too overwhelming, fast and does way more damage than Centuron's, and still no one can open their eyes and realize the great mistake that was done here, Raider needed a buff, that's it. Not a rework.
The only character that is in desperate need of a rework is Centurion
FEEDBACK ON RAIDER:
* Make his stunning tap a tad slower if it's used inside a chain
* Stunning tap should blind only if it's thrown from neutral, because while getting pressured by his zone, you have to watch out for the zone, stunning tap and the gb all the while being BLIND
* He should be able to do a stunning tap on gb
* Top Heavy should blind
TL;DR: Raider is overloaded with mechanics that are almost impossible to outplay depending on character and you have to rely on luck while playing against one, this should be changed as I listed above, taking into consideration that characters inferior to him CANNOT win against him
I feel the same way about Raider, except I did expect this to happen. I told everyone he would be OP after his rework because he was already close to a 50% win rate in all game modes. He is game breaking OP now. You'd think that Ubisoft would have looked at their data, saw that he is close to the middle of the pack as far as win percentage goes, and just given a little more to make him more fun. All he needed was a 500ms Chain Starter Light attack, a couple more Chains like Light, Heavy, Heavy, and the ability to do the stunning tap with variable timing off of the unblockable so a simple dodge wouldn't beat both mixups. Instead, they made him OP by giving him way too much to work with. He did not need the ability to soft feint heavies to a GB, which is even worse with Raider than other characters because of Stampede Charge. He did not need all of his attacks sped up, just the chain starter. He did not need a damage buff. He did not need hyper armor. This rework is the worst thing that has been put into the game since the addition of the initial version of Shaman.
i personally think raiders alright. I dont play raider but i have no problem beating him before and after rework. They did a solid job reworking him and didnt take away his signature moves that made him unique (unlike valk!). i dont think hes god tier. Hes just been brought up to competition level, matching up with new heroes, but he certainly can be beaten
Hyperarmour on the second heavy in the chain wrecks any form of dodge attack so assasins have to try deal with the stunning tap with reflex guard. Not fun.Originally Posted by xIBlacKmaNIx Go to original post
Raider main here. U are saying that rework should make someone viable not godly. Tell that to berserker and try to play against a good berserker as a pre reworked Raider. THAT was nearly impossible! Raider was in the lower tier in duels and higher in other modes JUST BECAUSE the stupid stampede charge, which was stupidly strong and every rat playing Raider could do it and make statistics in 4v4. Now when u have ****ING 500 ms lights u will complain huh? No problem with Zerk idk 300 ms delayed lights in combo ? WITH HYPER ARMOR. And ofc the stunning tap OMG, so strong. Parry it and u have half life taken as a centurion cause Raiders these days do a lot of thi. Raiders just play as they played but now their lights are viable to use and they are not FREE PARRY as before ( it was 600 ****ing ms boi, just look the ****ing numbers). Slow Riader now, cause he is finally viable and u don't have to be parry god to get some as him.
I think Raider is fine. I think if you forget to pay attention to the stunning tap, it's more than likely going to hit you. It's still fairly easy to parry if you expect it, but it is a soft feint nonetheless, and I don't think Shaman's is any different reaction-wise if you pay attention.
I suspect a nerf in damage, though. 15dmg, variable-timed attack that blinds and can open Raider up for at least 5 different options.
That is one of Raider's specialities, though, as well as the dodge GB.
To be fair, I don't think Raider would be able to get much without the stunning tap blinding and being fast, especially at high level. If it didn't blind, players would most likely never get the finishing light off. There would also be less zone and GB pressure. That would put Raider back to where he started before his rework.
The big question since the rework is does Raider need the dodge GB anymore?
Well, it is a part of his identity. It isn't all that different from Tiandi having both a light and heavy dodge to keep players on their toes. Both are Vanguards, so I think Raider keeping his dodge GB isn't a bad thing.
You can still bait the Stunning tap, al try that.
Expect a lot of stunning taps from Raiders like you would expect lots of lights from assassins. It'll make life easier.

Thats what i've been saying, Raider plays as he did before, except he is not a free kill anymore for the SB and light spamming cancer heroes. Maybe the extra damage isnt needed (i'm fine with it though),still ppl complain cause he can soft faint gb now. It's not like he is invulnerable. You all act like you can pull a 30-0 kill rate in a domi match now with Raider. He can start his combos with a light now and suddenly stunning tap became a problem cause he can actually chain heavies after it? Hey Ubi you know what revert the changes so these whiners will finally shut up. I will still own most of your asses just like i did before.
I'm sorry, but is this a thread about ''HOW MANY OP CHARACTERS CAN WE HAVE IN THE GAME?''. Yes, I acknowledge that Berserker is NOT fine either, because he isn't. But I'm talking about Raider
What do you mean ''parry a stunning tap and half their health is gone''? let's not mention it's 500 ms now, and it does even more damage, but the only way I'm taking half your hp from that is if you got parried with the back to the wall, and that is YOUR fault, not the game's. Do you even understand how overwhelming it feels to play Centurion and having to watch out for 500 ms lights, zone that does 50 dmg after a stunning tap, which in total is 68 dmg, more than Centurion full cutscene in a SECOND all the while being BLINDED, but oh he can soft feint it into another blind, oh but watch out cause he can soft feint it into gb, then I get thrown to the ground, stun tapped again and here we go again
I'm sorry I'm assaulting your main but put yourself in my shoes man. You think that is fair? How? Centurion's only gimmick was the cutscene and the soft feint into gb, now Raider has way way better mix ups, more damage, hyper armor on heavies, 500 ms lights and stunning tap, soft feint into gb from UNBLOCKABLE which forces you to parry or dodge which results in the gb (cent can only soft feint from normal heavy which means 0 pressure). So tell me, tell me bro, how am I supposed to beat that with Cent? Parrying everything? Good, the only thing every character can do, remove that and what can I do to stop you? Nothing, admit it, your main is overloaded and doesn't need this power
Yeah bro, we're whining cause half the cast dies in a second to Raider, as I've said earlier, I main Centurion and fighting against a Raider is NOT fair. He has everything Centurion has but 10 times better, blinds, 500 ms lights and stunning tap that blinds and does more damage than his lights, heavies with hyper armor that can be chained 3 times, the ability to soft feint a 50 dmg attack into a gb, he has everything. What is the point in playing anything else? Raider is good now, you've got your fill, what about us? What about Cent mains, Orochi mains, PK mains? What bro? How is he fair to fight?+1
