Hello,
I have recently downloaded Far Cry 4 after several months of not playing it, and the game doesn't want to run. I have played it in the past with no issues, and I'm certain that it isn't a hardware problem as it used to run with no problems. I have tried the following:
- reinstalling Steam
- reinstalling UPlay
- verifying integrity of game files (several times)
- running in compatibility mode for Windows 7
- running Steam, UPlay, and FC4 as administrator
- reinstalling Far Cry 4
- redownloading redistributables (DirectX)
My PC has 16GB of DDR3 RAM, an Intel Core i7 950 clocked @3.07 GHz, and I'm running Windows 10 x64.
Here is an image of my DXDIAG:
The specific problem with the game is that I run it (either from Steam, UPlay, or directly from its folder), the small splash screen shows up for a second, and then the program closes (not even a "not responding" or an error). Does anybody know some kind of a way to get the game to run past the splash screen? I would also like to contact Ubisoft support, but I can't find their contact info for English Canada, so if somebody could post that I would also be grateful.

To be clear Ubisoft staffer had no useful information, The link to the Steam thread is where the answer is, and it only requires erasing the Far Cry 4 folder from the Registry NOT the whole Ubisoft folder. At least thats all it took for me, BUT trying to open the map editor causes the issue to start again and then you have to erase the Far Cry 4 folder in the Registry again. Basically the Map Editor is useless.
Hey! Thank you for providing this information in regard to only needing to delete the Far Cry 4 folder. If you need further help, please let us know.Originally Posted by dinglehair Go to original post

WID992007 linked a Steam thread above that seems to resolve the issue for some players.
Alternatively, Steam also have a support article for crash on launch issues: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_...6218-USFX-5568
All the best!
