Bug: Upgraded Sweet Dreams to Lullaby, Upgrade of Lullaby to 500 fails

So, I was happy to finally get a Sweet Dreams as a drop.

I had the blueprints to upgrade it to a Lullaby,

So I did the "Lullaby Upgrade" - which gave me a Lullaby from the SweetDreams - and I was a bit surprised to see the drop in gear score from 497 to 461.

I was even more surprised when I tried the "Lullaby Upgrade Gear" blueprint to bring it up to level 500.

So - something is definitively wrong here. The materials seem to match, so what goes wrong?

Hello! We are aware of this issue and are currently investigating, it does not appear to be working as intended.

One suggestion would be to make sure you don't have the weapon equipped when trying to upgrade it, that worked for some players.

I found the cause and it was not about having the converted weapon equipped.

The "Lullaby Upgrade Gear" is of course for upgrading the level 1 Lullaby, using the Lullaby from the converted Sweet Dreams as a resource, and not for upgrading that conversion itself.

It suddenly dawned on me that I had transferred my level 1 Lullaby to a second character. After transferring the level 1 back to the main character, I could do the upgrade, using the "Lullaby Upgrade Gear" blueprint.

    Problem solved.

    Hey!

This is incredibly helpful and an amazing investigation on your side.

Thank you for taking the time to test this. I will add this to the investigation to make sure there is no confusion, and to make sure we have no issues.

I can't say for sure whether this will be implemented, but I will happily pass your suggestion forward.

I’m glad this solved your problem, but I am currently dealing with the same issue of not being able to upgrade the lullaby with any blueprint. I also have the same issue with the Merciless, after upgrading to the Ruthless skin, I kept all perks, lost the silencer, and it went from a GS of 498 to 473. I can’t upgrade it because I get that default msg.

My Sweet Dreams is at a 498 and can’t be upgraded to 500 because there is no BP, and I’m not willing to let the same bug drop my Sweet Dreams down in GS, just for a skin.

The exotics in this game need a major fix.
