Take normalization out of every dz

I suggest taking normalization out of all darkzones . It's really makes builds almost pointless . People can throw about anything on and do decent damage .I can go in with purples on and kill people straight up . What's the point in gear score really? I know theres the odz but still I dont agree with normalization for the dark zone period

would be nice to not have normalization once you reach a certain GS.
would be nice to have a non-normalized conflict mode too.

I disagree as the normalised DZ's mean some additional PvE peeps have gone into the DZ as they don't feel like they will be insta gimped, I do however think it should be disabled in all the dedicated PvP modes such as conflict.

If your doing pve you should be very well geared then and ready for the darkzone so no need for normalization . Plus I could care less , this is a game where your suppose to get loot to improve your build and stats. It takes skills to build gear sets and normalization defeats this . When you cater to pve you ruin pvp .

I love PVP and agreed with your point 100%

The reason why we are seeing a downfall of the PVP with this normalization structure implemented in the DZ is because devs wanted to build it for casual audience.
They just forget that casual players never stick around for long.

I give a year or 2 for this game because now it is currently in a poor state.

Not everyone is against PvP so lets quit the PvP vs PvE stand, it isn't helpful and it just provides more barriers and gets peoples backs up.
Building for PvP is very different to PvE, most PvE players are DTE and not geared for chc/chd etc.

While I agree with the OP to a point, when you don't provide a less shocking path from PvE to PvP you'll end up with the empty DZ you had in D1. I have dragged a couple of people who were against PvPvE into the DZ's and now they got a taste of normalized DZ's they have decided they actually don't mind the PvP aspect and are gearing for the ODZ, which lets be honest is where you actually want to be to test your build. They hated PvP in the DZ in D1 as they were always getting their *** handed to them by gankers and better geared players so they couldn't enjoy the PvP aspect, they really had no way of testing out a build to see if it was worth refining. Now they have that option where the concept of the build can be tested out, and then they can refine it and go to the ODZ. Before you say well refine your build in the PvE zone... if they do that then why bother to go to the DZ at all they can just play the other PvP modes. The goal is to get more PvPers into the ODZ and PvP modes, not less...

You saying normalized should be removed is pretty much the same pointless debate as the pure PvE guys saying there should be a PvE only DZ. Your trying to take away from another part of the player base when you already have the ODZ to go head to head without normalized builds. If you don't like normalized builds stay in the ODZ and don't bother with the normalized ones, it would be more constructive to ask for more PvP play zones without normalization that to try and take away something already in the game.

PvP and PvE are being balanced separately, nothing is getting ruined by allowing normalization other than not being able to gank people so easily. If your in it for the ganking then your not really in it for the PvP you in it for the ego inflation. So what if the devs are catering to casuals, you wont see casuals in the ODZ where the best builds will be so it shouldn't impact PvPers negatively. By allowing some fun in a normalized zone you might actually end up with more players that want to go to to the ODZ and start enjoying it.

    1. No ranking system like WoW PvP. If there is no point 1, then point 2 needs to be taken into account:

    2. Game doesn't have a PvE progression system in determining where players are at a certain point in gear power/skill level. E.g. bad player being in, hypothetical, lvl 1 mission while best player being in lvl 100 mission. So it's impossible to put a bracket for players from this perspective. If this doesn't exist, next point happens:

    3. Bad players with a skill power build gear would be pitted against good players with minmaxed weapon damage build and they'd be stomped so hard, they'd forget their own name.

Because of the lack of proper systems in determining gear power/skill level, DZ is using the "stat squish" system, to reduce the gap between casuals and minmaxers. So, DZ is a place that basically, caters to the casuals. While ODZ, for the minmaxers.

If they didn't normalize, forums would be filled with "Why are there no brackets for people with good gear and bad gear? I can't do anything."

Now when it's normalized, the biggest thing that sets one player apart from the next, is your aim, and that's something that you can't whine on the forums about without looking like a fool.

Therefore the game needs to be Normalized because of the lack of "player power" tracking from progression systems. Standard stuff..

There is a bracket, its call the LZ not the DZ.
