Ubisoft server only hosts profiles and matchmaking. Traffic comes from a player assigned as host. Since players constantly leave and join session host changes all the time, and this causes traffic to be replaced, cars appear and disappear around you.
Like a lot of other issues dedicated servers would help to fix this problem. But those greedy *****es decided to be cheap with their full-priced game filled with microtransactions.
what REALY pisses me off is:
i've driven NY hyper many Many times
and so i get a feel for how the traffic is programmed and where it commonly appears
BUT wenn ya drive in crew ya wanna enjoy some slipstreaming
and they have programmed a thing in there that's creates EXTRA traffic wenn slipstream is detected
EVERY slipstream creates at least 1 extra traffic close to the point of overtake, often even 2 or 3 extra cars just to make every slipstream fail
this is not a "challenge" this is pure Evil !
today we managed 4 consecutive slipstream/overtakes without crashing in the NY hyper
and guess what?
apperantly they even thought of it to ad a multyplier in that slipstream wrecker code !!!
wenn we initiated the 5th slipstream/overtake we got no less than 5 big touring busses creating a watertight roadblock
i wanna wish all those @ IVT that came up with this, those that sighned of on this and those that wanted to protest this but didn't:
a tiny dent or cratch on they're RL transport for EVERYTIME this game creates extra traffic because of slipstream/overtake...
I still don't see how so many people have traffic issues with NY race. I have done this race numerous times and the traffic is quite bearable. Bear in mind though I do not race this with a crew. However, the biggest influx of traffic seems to come from major roadways, like highways and freeways (and the occasional off ramp).
May heaps it's because I play the game on low settings not much traffic actually spawns in, but I seriously never get to a level of anger or frustration the OP has displayed and reacted to many times in this thread. May I suggest you try lowering your graphics to see if it reduces the amount? This is the only main difference between mine and your experience, apart from racing solo.
Traffic doubles in both numbers and aggression when in a crew.
In addition to that, it sometimes looks like they become more violent when you dodge their attacks. Up to the level of total roadblocks with cars or busses.
But they can also take you out when driving alone. With targeted attacks.
If they had used the same amount of energy in programming other stuff.....
Traffic aggression and annoyance can be toned down a notch.
