I posted awhile back about "answering the call". I was doing some farming for the chatterbox and completing the invaded Roosevelt missions last night when I responded to an agent needing backup. I dropped in and immediately came under fire. I'm like, Oh snap...get to cover! I literally made it to cover with no armor and one health bar as I got lit up from behind by multiple NPCs. Yeah, this guy was in a world of hurt and I'm thinking this may not have been a good idea lol
We started dispatching multiple NPCs except one that was extremely crafty and kept healing himself. Pissed me off so when I got an opportunity, I dropped 2 nades on him from my launcher and we was dead. Then I saw this blue light where he died so I ran over. It was a mask. I'm like, Oh sh*t! Did I just kill a Hunter?!? This guy was farming a Hunter and a band of NPCs showed up. As we finished, 2 other guys joined in and we proceeded to get 4 more masks and 2 ivory keys.
I say this to say that I was not planning on farming Hunters but was glad that I joined this persons group. Had a blast and got some pretty cool masks in the process.
You never know what you're signing up for. Could be something simple like someone wants help with a hostage rescue or a stronghold you were planning on doing soon.
I do wish that when it puts us in we would be maybe just outside the actual battle since being dropped in the middle getting shot at from multiple directions makes it rather difficult to even get your bearings. Not as bad as matchmaker for instances since being outside and having to track your team down gets annoying too, but something in the middle would be kind of freaking nice.
Thank you for sticking with it through the dicey situation at the start. You never know what's going to happen.Originally Posted by Trep06 Go to original post![]()
I don't know. If they didn't have them already I would assume soOriginally Posted by Neo_Wildcard Go to original post
I finally figured out how to answer the call the other night, I'm currently only at the low level of 16 but the other night I was only at 11 with some heavy duty guns, turret and drone, answered a call that turned out to be a level 16 having problems with a mission I had completed solo, went in all guns and drones blazing and had a lot of fun, didn't get anything special out of it other than having fun, also answered a call to a pair of players that were stuck on taking a control point near the metro station, helped heal them up then went on the rampage having fun with the mission, when it was over I just went on my way shooting things up with the random reds running around and the 2 guys ended up following me around the map for about 30mins, not entirely sure how weapon drops work in co-op but I think they were picking up the same stuff dropped by the guys that were killed that I was collecting.
I'm not into the PvP aspect but answering the calls for help does seem to end up with having fun![]()
Really glad to hear that you have a good time alas my own experience is the complete opposite from you. I didnt bother to team up with my first character but made it a habit to answer any "answer the call" notifications I got on my second playthrough.
- people who used it on accident
- people who immediately kick me
- downed people waiting for me to rezz them THEN kick me
- AFK or aimlessly running around in the base, I usually leave on my own accord after a couple minutes
I had one or two occasions where I dropped in in the middle of a mission which we then teamed through. BUT never ever has anybody speak up, react to my greetings or generally communicate with me. Pretty frustrating to be honest.
I get what you are trying to say....there is the POTENTIAL to have a really good group or teammember but the chances are so low IMO that its not worth the numerous disappointments
