Does it matter which version i buy?

Steam/uplay etc... does that affect the game in any way?
I want to buy it this weekend but I don't want to get it for example on uplay and find all the players are over on steam. Is it all linked up and if not, which platform is the best one to buy it on?
I don;t care about playing with friends, I just don;t want to buy into a dead or low population multiplayer.

I've followed the game for a while, it looks like they are doing a reasonable job of listening to what people want. I'm not going to make the next year of my life revolve around the game I just want to have something new to play for a couple of weeks.

    Hey silverzz,

The game is only available for sale on The Ubisoft Store and the EPIC Games Store, neither store has any advantage to buying it over the other and all players can play with each other so neither one has a bigger population
