That is due to the degrading humiliating talk by rogues to their victims. When it was done to me, they also used the raise/kill cycle with the totally disgusting talk. Start to heal you, then shoot you, start to heal, then shoot, rinse and repeat. Only way to break the cycle and stop the talk was quit the game and restart it, hoping you didn't end in the same DZ instance with that group again. Sometimes I have to make 3 or 4 attempts in order to not to end up in the same instance. I even block players so their names would show up in the DZ instance so I would know not to bother with that instance. It was this small group of players that help ruin the DZ for the majority of players.Originally Posted by GrimTwilight Go to original post
This will never happen. Just go back to td1.Originally Posted by GrimTwilight Go to original post
They didn't need to change up the DZ, or to fragment it. Now that PVE players have enough loot in LZ, DZ could have been left exactly like the old DZ and nobody would have complained. PVE players would be farming their gear in LZ and getting 515 loot from raid, and PVP players would be having fun in the DZ like the old days.
I know it's too late to change the game/DZ too much at this stage, but I really believe Massive should go back to the old formula if there is a third game. One DZ, one location, old style rules, scary mobs, maybe even a couple of crazy dangerous mutated villains who only appear in the DZ, just to give PVP players an extra threat/challenge, and with the LZ just keep it like it is now, bounties, missions, strong holds, invaded missions, new DLCs, etc.
One of the big problems this game is never going to get right is TTK. If you make it low players get mad about getting insta-melted but if you get it higher funny things start to happen. Snipers become ineffective and lose purpose, cover becomes irrelevant, and worst of all the chicken dance comes back. I have already seen groups of 4 in skirmish doing an improvised version, and I think it will only get worse. the only things that allows for higher TTK in PVP without making everyone run in a circles are effective damage skills that prevent teams butt hugging on heals, which we do not have, or deadly snipers, which seem to be on the nerf fast track every patch. I do not think PVP will feel good for another few months if ever.
yea ik what happens when TTK is to high but also now know what it feels like to be to low. its a fine line to walk ... 30% just dont feel like enough to me.. as theirs still a lot of really fast kill builds .. ppl well always find new way of making broken builds.. i think they should once they hit that happy spot with damage out put focus heavily on what a lot of ppl are running.. and tone it down slightly till it feel right.
also its not to late to remerg the DZ but it wouldn't happen anytime soon as it would take up a lot of planning time and moving the map around. what they could do is do 1 underground type area in 1 dz(now) and 2 horde modes in the other 2 dz that rotate on a weekly basis.
put the bigger DZ to the north or south. this would give PvE's more stuff todo as well as PvP what they want a bigger map to move around on. have 40% of the bigger zone normalized gated off form the ODZ with gates going into the ODZ form the norm DZ. with the gates going into the norm DZ form the LZ having guns and JTF in form to prevent camping but all ODZ gates no guard/guns. thsi would solve the issues of ppl just running away also. well still allowing a fair size of the area being norm DZ.
I agree with most your points. It's easy to see that this game will fail unless major things are done for pvp . You can argue all day but this game has already gone in the wrong direction .. I really wanted to succeed but it's not going to unless it's entirely reworked from gear, skills,to darkzone to conflict . I'm not gonna play a only 12 player dz or 4v4 only mode for years . I also am not waiting 6 months to a year for the game to get right and balanced . Developers should have had this game already in a very good state before it released . The player count has probably dropped 70-90 percent by now . Honestly marcostyles video on the pvp is spot on and I dont see this game changing for the better .
if anything is to go by it is TD1 it had a lot of issues for long while they did fix them but it took a lot of patches and for the game to almost fail before they brought it back.. maybe history well repeat it's self. if they merg the DZ up player counts to near TD1 in the DZ and fix the broken builds/stop listing to reddit cus they would rather PvP not be a thing(Pve only DZ LMAO) that could save the DZ but it'll take a lot of work.. i was hoping to get positive feedback here on what i posted to get the dev's to look at it .. but idk if that'll happen.
