So as to avoid high-jacking the thread i've reopened an old rework thread of mine for aramusha.
This rework was designed for low graphical change needs. meaning I think a heavier rework would be interesting, but this rework for the most part would require no new or largely significant animation changes, and thus would be fairly easy to implement while massively impacting his performance, versatility, and returning his identity as capable of dodges (via the outlined soft feints into dodges and the dodge attack i suggest) The only animation that would have to be updated (as all other suggestions are mostly speed changes or soft feints being enabled) would be his light side dodge attack.
And yes if he got any buffs he would need a dmg nerf.
All his dmg buffs were bandaids very much so. basically they say: if you get a lucky hit then cool, but you still have the same exact issues trying to get said hit.

It wasnt a buff. The side opener is now 40dmg when it used to be 30 plus a guaranteed 12dmg 400ms top light for a 42 total dmg on a side heavy.Originally Posted by rottmeister Go to original post
They just buff the dmg from 30 to 40 (so its a very small 2 dmg nerf) and made his top light in infinite chain 500ms and not guaranteed anymore after the hit.
Their goal was to help new players to understand Musha kit as according to them they were not able to know when Musha top light was guaranteed or when they could try to block/parry it.
So at the end with this patch Musha got -2dmg on his side heavy and his infinite chain top light nerfed from 400ms to 500ms.
But in another hand he got his side deadly feint buff to 400ms from 500ms (was only 400ms from the top before).
But it didnt help as 400ms or 500ms, doesnt matter as they can just be back Dodge.
I will try to post here a very good vid showing all things Musha lost with this update (from a high level pov), i have to find it first ^^
A good thing would be to give Musha a softfeint on his deadly feint into a tracking attack (his kick for example). People need to feel they cant just back Dodge it.
An easier access to his bb options would be Nice and i know a lot of people ask for a Dodge attack for him too (side).
But Vendelkin can provide deeper ideas and data about that i think.
You are right on most they are pretty clear.Originally Posted by rottmeister Go to original post
Nobushi needs some speed ups and a better side dodge attack i frame wise
PK needs some damage increases
Kensei could use some of his lights sped up a small amount
Gladi just needs a better guard, and maybe a few other things... but really just really really needs that guard (can we talk about removing reflex guard altogether here and implementing a block stamina for assassins? haha)
Im actually not entirely sure how I'd improve Cent but he does need it and I'mm excited to see whats in store.
Also if Shin or Highlander or Warlord were to change Im also not sure what I'd want changed. I personally think Shin and Highlander are both in a good places right now EXCEPT for the fact that highlander match ups are garbage, and becoming more so because most people have dodge tricks of somekind. With all the recent changes, and every time a character with dodges is added to the game, a change to highlander becomes more important so he can actually handle dodges while in offensive stance.
Hopefully Nobush and PKi, when everyone is running around with 400-500ms attacks Nobushi's attacks are just too slow, the attacks out of hidden stance is too slow, unblockable is frequently dodged, and swift recoil is just as useless as Valkyrie chargec tackle. So all you really do is turtle with hidden stance and look for parries.
PK, she needs more damage, less stamina consumption, and bleed feints from every directions.
I think it's hard to pick 3. The most useless now is probably pk with low damage, no pressure and no defining strenght, centurion is a very close second with mediocre defense and nonexistent offense, and you can just backdodge everything aramusha has (he is still a good turtle). So, these are my top 3. But the warlord and the nobushi needs some attention too, they are, however, at least more useful, and should be able to easily beat these 3.
i think orochi and pk need openers. i feel like cent might need a buff, but if so he needs a serious damage nerf. currently he's easy to play against but its kinda a trade off where if u mess up once you can lose all your hp. if there going to buff his move set they for sure need to nerf his combo damages off parry or kicks. of course the VALK needs a damage buff, she is pretty lol at the moment. seems like this could be done in 2 hours but hey... why not just leave her ****ty. her moves need to be a bit less telegraphed also but her move set is great. i think ubi really needs to just tweak the characters that would take less time first. just buff some damage here and there on some heroes before getting into reworks i think. most the characters are in a pretty good spot but i would say stop just giving characters spam to buff them. everyone is starting to feel the same in a way that they weren't in the earlier days. don't try to be like every other fighting game, thats why i play this and not MK type games. i like the new offensive stuff but at the same time I'm missing the tactical play of the defense meta as well. pure offense and spam is boring.
