I watched the stream with no expectations, besides Raider Only getting his stamped charge nerfed and some type of LH chain and faster lights and stunning tap.
We got ALL that, PLUS more chains and a soft feint GB and right AND left zone attack. Not to mention buffs to heavies AND the sprint attack. 35DMG SPRINT ATTACK!... Variable timed stunning tap, too! AND HA on second and third heavies!
Lotsa good stuff here.
I honestly don't think Raider needed a soft feint GB, especially since he has his regular dodge GB. Not only can he counter with GB but he can also fake you out easier to get that GB.
With very hard-hitting heavies, the pressure will be on, especially when that chained 50dmg zone still here.
I'm disappointed with HA being added. Raider won't be as technical as before, but that has to make up for the nerfed stampede charge. But, I digress. Before, Raider had to rely on the zone in ganks since it had a high hit rate. Now, with HA on second a third heavies, Raider can maybe get an extra good 45dmg on someone before using the zone mixup.
I'm worried about the variable-timed Stunning tap. That'll be something for sure...
First thoughts? Definitely strong on paper.
They've made Raider fast, strong, and very in-your-face with these changes. Raider went from a more technical fighter to a straight harasser. I don't know how I feel about that, but we'll have to all see when we stomp lob- I mean when we get to try Raider out.
Raider has a lot of options, now. LB's will be able to hold their own, too, but Raider's play style was definitely changed to be super aggressive.
