I also encounter the long loading times. Todays update did not solve the underlying problem. I measured the waiting time:

* 00:00: I hit play in Uplay, EAC appears just immediately, loads and closes, now nothing happens
* 01:54: A black screen appears, after a little waiting the intros get played
* 03:04: The connecting screen appears, waiting ...
* 04:47: On the connecting appears my Uplay avatar in the right top corner, more waiting ...
* 05:24: The connecting switches to a percent value and actually begins loading
* 05:47: I am now in the character selection screen. Finally done.

The whole process from desktop to character selection screen took me 5 minutes and 47 seconds. For me there are two problems:

1. The time between 00:00 and 01:54 where simply nothing happens (from a players point of view) is to long.
2. The time between 03:04 and 05:24 when the loading begins (from a players point of view) is also to long.

While there can be reasons for the high loading time, it is unsatisfactory to watch a screen where nothing happens. In fact the loading times were way better at the launch of TD2.

Please investigate the high loading times. If there is no way to reduce the loading time please consider to change the loading screens and avoid screens where nothing happens (from the players point of view). Honestly I think it is better to watch a loading screen where a counter is displayed, as to watch a screen where nothing happens.

Same here, 5-6 min wait to get past all the loading screens. Hopefully this is resolved asap. Today's 'fix' did nothing to improve this at all in terms of loading speed.

Really makes me want to go for the refund since it's getting worse and worse.
I loved the game as it came out, but after those patches hit, everything just got worse to the point, where I am not playing anymore because I don't want to wait so long for a game to start.
I'll give it a week maybe.

Ubisoft guys, please... our Dxdiag files are not going to fix this. There is nothing in our system that is causing this. It is on your end.
