I’ve heard so much talk about items not dropping, especially exotics and pistols (D50 for eg)
In my experience, I’ve played 260 hours since launch, completed every activity possible multiple times (except PVP) and not one exotic has dropped including the D50. I’ve only one exotic and that’s the Chatterbox which is obtained differently.
And before someone says that’s RNG, my point is it shouldn’t be this bad. After the amount I put into this game I should be able to try exotics (even if the majority of them are underpowered). Division 1 drop rates were not this bad.
Are Massive doing this on purpose till they sort out exotic balances? What are other player drop rates like?
I have 11 D50s. I was just gonna start farming the other components and try for higher dmg Liberty.
In short... yes I think something is wonky with drop table. In longer... there seem to specific instances which an expected behaviour / reward just does not proc for some people. However the chances can be improved by fidgeting with the system. Essentially gaming the loot tables into offering you stuff. Which shouldn’t really possible. Too many things across too many aspects are acting strangely and often with rather drastic consequences.
I know they know about this trend because they keep introducing small things to fix parts of it or adjust things to compensate. I’m fairly confident it will get sorted eventually but for now it seems light patches are best remedy and whatever weasely devices you can come up with to get what you want.
I can’t really blame them though... the drop system in this game is... like quantum physics to give you a gumball that’s boot leather and strawberry potato flavoured. Some of it is way too random... and yet wildly specific.
Oh and Liberty is actually gotten similar way to chatterbox. You get first piece after killing True Son Capitol Boss. Then I think Viewpoint, Air & Space, and Space HQ drop the other three components. Last drop at Space HQ when you have 3 components is final component and blueprint. Then you need a HE D50 that you sort of convert into Liberty. But yeah some people haven’t seen a D50 at all. I have gone through 6 already.
Try putting a bunch in your in your inventory. Game does a fair amount of its loot drops based on something from your inventory. Even gear is supposed to drop based on the highest item in inventory... not total GS or higher GS piece equipped... but I think that is not working and being overridden by GS. However they’re changing drops to be more based around GS... so that’s kind of a fix.Originally Posted by Nehelem Go to original post
Like even the component drops... if you don’t have this or that piece... you don’t get the drop.
I was getting so many shotguns it was weird. I ended up with god rolls and killer talents and even a good spread of killer talent combos in the same weapon... damage rolls were maxxed... all had perfect rolls for type of shotgun... but shotguns are crap now (I still love them and have hope) so I just took all my awesome shotguns and put them in my stash.
Had a project to complete by donating shotguns. Went whole week before I realized I hadn’t had a single one drop. Which was alarming considering the insane obsession the game had with them. Tried it with some other weapon types and so far decent results. It’s how I got 4 CTARs. DMRs are same as shotguns though. Too weak right now and I have maxxed out, killer talent representatives from literally every type.
Want more assault rifles so lately I only carry assault rifles. Finally got the full spread of G36. Hadn’t even seen a military version until yesterday.
Also have been looking for a simple pair of alderadi gloves with assault rifle dmg and that’s it. Since launch. Got first pair yesterday. Ya loot tables are all over the f’ing place.
It’s not just me then. So that rules out ‘RnG’. The loot algorithm is broken.Originally Posted by hyper---sniper Go to original post
You won't get exotics unless you go looking for them.Originally Posted by hyper---sniper Go to original post
Most require that you collect the parts and get the blueprint. I think there's one you get from a boss at a specific mission, but maybe you haven't done that one yet.
The exotic D50 pistol one requires several parts. Some missions where you need to find secret keys and also have specific types of cache keys on you.
The exotic sniper takes three weeks to collect the parts, you need to do specific missions in a specific order.
As you know with the Chatterbox SMG, it requires hidden keys and cache keys of a set type.
If you're expecting exotics to just drop for you then you'll be waiting a long time![]()
