Please stay on topic. What you and Bone_Frog discuss has nothing to do with GRW.

Discussing irl sniper rifles is related to discussing in-game sniper rifles and may bring an interesting perspective to the discussion, in my view. I don't see any issue with it. Let's move on with the discussion.

    That's a fact.

I've never got comfortable with long-range sniping as it's designed in the game; thus use an AR (normally 556xi) with the TA31H for what I consider as "long-range" for my preferred style of play.

    Truth!

To add to my previous post about using most sniper rifles in the game, I play coop with a couple of guys that never use sniper rifles in this game as they simply don't see a need. They have a point... you never need to take a shot that can't be done with an AR. Using a sniper rifle is really only for role playing.

Honestly, if you practice enough with one configuration and get accustomed enough to its bullet drop, there's nothing you can hit with a sniper rifle that you can't with a AR. My longest shot on record is ~600 meters (I'd have to check to the exact distance) with the M40A5, but I typically have no trouble reaching to ~450 with ARs without much trying. And I run short barrels (where possible) almost exclusively. One of these days, I'll have to see just how far I can reach out with my shorty 416.

I think the majority of those with 1,500+ meter shots are cheating by doing it in coop with a partner holding a target in place and spotting them, since with the excessive bullet drop in this game, one has to aim so high at those distances that they can't even see what they're aiming at.

Yeah you can consistently hit targets with an AR to 300m or beyond.

The real stupid thing is, the detection radius of the enemies is so poor, you can land a helicopter 100m from an enemy, get out, and shoot him with a hand gun completely undetected. It’s ridiculous.

So sniper rifles are completely unnecessary. Just move closer and “snipe” with your AR, SMG or handgun.

Now if they actually made enemies that might get alerted by clearly visible movement or obnoxiously noisy vehicles, it would be a different matter, and true “sniping” might serve a purpose. But the way the game mechanics are currently implemented, sniping is strictly a role playing thing. It’s totally unnecessary.

I'm using KSVK mostly now, but I also share alot of sympathy for the DMR rifles such as G28, SR25 etc but at tier 1 these became too weak and unusable sadly. Also my list goes as:

    L115
    G28
    M40
    PSG-1
    SVD
    SR25 <- clumsy
    M110 <- terrible bullet drop

I don't like the high caliber rifles and see everyone using HTI DT as a power play since it is simply OP for no reason, just like SR25 Jungle.

I used to use SR-25 Liberator but recently something happened to its scope .. it was accurate but now the center of the scope is not center anymore .. try to mark the center of your TV with a red dot and then use any sniper rifle.. while aiming you'll find out that some of them are centered and some are not even if u use the same scope.. Generally, I still use SR-25 Liberator for close and very long ranges (700+ m).

The PSG mercenary is great too when equipped with the G28 scope.
