What are track builder's and track player's opinions about some of these topics:
1. Enabling or disabling the helium if it makes your hard/extreme track to easy or not play the way you want it to play. Do track players want the option to use the helium?
2. Well done physics objects on the drive line? And if well done, should it be staple to put the black and yellow decals on all physics objects on the drive line? If mixed, keep them to the core dive line, or as shortcuts?
3. Music for the track, on or off, if there is a good amount of sound already in the track?
4. How often does one check if there is a secret/harder difficulty if the player backs up at the beginning of the track?
5. Hiding checkpoints so they can't be seen for better immersion? Do you always want to know when the next checkpoint is, or does it not matter to you?
6. Using portals/teleportation in your tracks, even if it works well, does it make the track lose points for you?
Enable/Disable any bike you want for any reason. Just make sure the track works with the bikes you allow.Originally Posted by TheSlimReeper Go to original post
As long as it’s easy to hit consistently, no problem. If you can’t meet that requirement, don’t include it.Originally Posted by TheSlimReeper Go to original post
Enable/disable any tracks you want. Have none if you must. People who don’t like the music will likely have it off in their options anyway. Do whatever your theme requires. Just make sure it conveys what you want with/without music and there should be no problem.Originally Posted by TheSlimReeper Go to original post
I’ll check every time.Originally Posted by TheSlimReeper Go to original post
It doesn’t matter. Hiding cp’s, showing them, making custom ones etc are all fine as long as they fit with your theme and are well placed.Originally Posted by TheSlimReeper Go to original post
If you can make good use of them, then i see no problem. You’ll never please everyone. If your theme requires portals, just make the transition quick and smooth. Make sure it doesn’t disrupt the flow or disorient the player. I don’t think well used portals will bother too many people.Originally Posted by TheSlimReeper Go to original post
I can give you my personal opinion for each one. Most is personal preference. #1. I like to have the option to pick what ever bike i want but its its the creators track so there for can do whatever he wants. #2 if physics are done well sure why not? I think its a good idea to put decal stripes on to but not a big deal if there not. And put them where ever the whole point is to be creative. #3 music can be a touchy one the safe bet is to turn it off. There are dozens of ways people can play there own music if it bothers them that bad. #4 i check every time and a small part of me dies inside when i see nothing there lol. #5 I really like to see the CP because if im having a hard time with a obstacle but i can see the CP right after then i will keep trying but if i don't see one i'll probably just say f it and quit. #6 portals if done right are good. Just played one last night on fusion called boxrun. It was fun i liked it. I'll add a few things that i personally like to see and not see on tracks that will hopefully help you and/others. Keep in mindthis is just my personal preference. #1 CP i like check points after every hard obstacle or after a small section. It really sucks spending 10min trying to get over something just to do it again if you fail shortly after. #2 camera. I don't think anyone should mess with the camera unless they know what there doing. Good drive lines have been ruined because of this. There are lots of creators that know what there doing. #3 blocking view of the rider and/or obstacle is big no. just don't do it. Just remember that my opinion is the only one that matters lol im kidding. I hope this helps and good luck.
