I'm just curious as to what the community thinks is the best PvE build. I'm looking for an AR ideal build, with stopping power, but running patience for armor regeneration. With that being said, I see a lot of builds using the AR and the sniper spec? I thought that the survivalist spec would be best for an AR build, but I'm not sure. Also, what kind of talents and stats should I look for? I've tried everything. I have tried a 10-7-1 build, a 8-10-1 build. I'm not caring too much on skill power as I'm using it for healing. Or should it be more balanced? I know damage to elites should be high. The way they have been changing stats and other things, it's hard to figure out the perfect AR build with stopping power, but has a good synergy and a tad of defense. I'm still relatively new to figuring out builds so go easy on me lol
I run Survivalist AR with Patience and Unstoppable Force. I stack weapon damage and feel like with 20.2k per bullet (and chatterbox holstered) almost all the PvE content is easy. However I don't do heroic, because there's no point in adding a lot of effort for no reward.
My AR also uses the talent that adds 20% damage to targets on fire so I'm constantly chunking flame grenades.
Survivalist and a SOCOM MK16 with 23.4K damage per bullet.
Either 2 piece True PAtriort and DH gear for Crits or I run 3 Wayvern with as many crits and raw weapon damage I can get.
My SOCOM is at about 19-20K weapon damage. It stops anything the game has to offer right now.
Cept those Hammer heavies...hate those damn things
Pve build are hard to put together with all the changes. So I've given up.
I'm not even crafting or recalibrating anymore. What I pick up, I make it work.
I prefer an lmg as primary. Sniper or ar as second.
Notice I'm not using any names because I focus in on stats, and talents. So, if I pick up a sub with high roll, (that is very rare in my case) then that's what I use till something better drops. Also any extra effects or buffs I can attach a mod and I'm golden. (I save all my mods even the green ones)
Now, I play survival and lean on that a lot. My crossbow is death on stick. I'm in love with my crossbow. But you know ammo is kinda hard to get. I open those perk as soon as I can.
Good luck agent.
There isn't a best build, it really depends on your style of play, which for me is mostly long range and defensive. I was doing AR/LMG with patience/safeguard and demo, but then tried the rifle and am loving it now with sharpshooter. My build is 5-7-7, it will change to 3-9-7 after the next patch to keep things working. The main things to go for are DTE, get it 85+, Weapon Damage and Damage for whatever weapon you use. I also find hazard protection and burn resistance pretty handy, as I can either ignore flames and explosions completely (forget which talent or mod that is) or stay in cover and naturally heal right through it..
