After the patch build diverstity will be immense and crafting king.

For those that feel down due to the nerfs to berserker and unstoppable force.
Know this : That is absolutely necessary due to the crafting buffs.

In the patch the crafting cap is taken out. There is a cap but its incredibly high, near impossible to reach.

What this mean is, you want to hold on to all items with 1 god rolled stat, even if the rest of the item is bad.
Currently you could not really maximize anything with that stat since those 15% turned into 3% on your current gear.

Example : I have a Fenris chest with 14% weapon damage, 8% crit hit chance and 2k health.
I cant do anything with any stats cause they are capped, I could get the health to 3k thats it.

After the patch, I can take the 20k armor I have on a chest and stick it onto the 2k health AND, it will BE 20k armor, not 3k, not 5k but 20k armor.

    And the list goes on.

You got a holster with 12% crit hit chance and 98 skill power.
Well now you can have that 12% crit AND roll in 700 skill power, earlier it would be capped at maybe 120.

So due to these changes they absolutely HAD to nerf berserker and unstoppable force or people would be too powerful for current content.

Once you have the right stuff you can craft brand items WITHOUT berserker or unstoppable force that will have a permanent damage bonus overall, that will be superior to them both.

So you can run a glass cannon build that will be even more powerful.
Or you can roll a super tank that dont over sacrifice your gear.
Or you can run a survivalist support healer that still rock 250k armor, 100k health and STILL rock solid damage.
    That will be possible.

Berserker and unstoppable force will be the new player or lazy player buffs to damage, to compensate for what possibliities you have for grinding and saving and crafting.

It also means that the best gear wont drop in dark zone.
The best gear will be the crafted gear.
Weapons will be the difference that is something you want from the dark zone more then likely but I would not despair too much over 515 gear dropping only in dark zone since the most powerful gear is a cumnination of your farming for 1 high stat items, having gear with 2 great stats and 1 ****ty stat and increaese that bad stat to god tier.

That will be the end game and insane gear we will see.

    Unbreakable not Unstoppable Force.

    Recalibration not Crafting.

Crafted gear has nothing to do with anything you are talking about. Crafted gear cannot be recalibrated and is crafted at 490, so it's still useless.

Honestly, the fact that they removed the cap in attribute transfers is the only reason why I am somewhat still interested in the game. It's the only part of the gearing system that allows us to keep progressing. Without it, there's literally nothing left to do or work towards.

And 515 gear is not it. Unless they adjust gear score scaling, then full 515 will only be a tiny bit better than full 500 ... certainly not worth the time to go through the grind of sifting through hundreds, if not thousands of pieces of gear AGAIN to replace everything.

I know people dislike the idea of gear sets/classified sets being the best in the game because it incentivizes everyone to use similar builds, but we need something more organized and focused than the current gear system. It's just a mess right now and I can't see repeating the same tedious process every time they release new content.

Yup, checked it the day the PTS dropped and was amazed. I have a spreadsheet I list all my highest rolled attributes on gear I get and favorite and stash them. When this recalibration patch drops I will be able to transfer godly stats from some otherwise crap purple and gold gear onto the stuff I actually wear. I expect a HUGE increase in survivability, DPS and be able to actually use some of those damn mods in my turret and drone.

there is still a recalibration cap, but it is much hugher then befor
you can now improve a stat by more hten 6x the amount compared to live server but NOT unlimited
at the moment you can improve the weapon type specific dmg buff on gloves by 1%, after the patch you will be able to improve it by 6%, but if you have eg a glove with +2% ar dmg and +8% lmg dmg you can improve the ar dmgg opnly to 8%, not any higher, or the lmg dmg to theoretically 14%, but more then 12% cannot drop
but you WONT get the ar dmg to 12%

Question with this though, I was under the impression it is still restricted to the total net value of the item. Meaning you would want a super high stat roll and to put it on something will low base stats/armor since it would have a higher threshold of value to increase. Stats/armor/mods all had some value component for the item, that is what I was informed.

This sounds very good and also really worrying.

It sounds good because it gives us an opportunity to make some really interesting builds using those high stats we have on other armor parts. I wish we could change an attribute as well as a talent on our armor, but I guess that would be going too far. As you rightly say, talents will become rather redundant but that leads me on to my other point.

This sounds a bit unbalanced again. It's like a quick fix to a problem that is very likely to create many other problems. It sounds like a mistake which again will need to be rectified via more massive nerfs and hits. Your saying that we can boost a skill on each item much higher than we can now. So this means we can boost critical damage, critical hit chance and elite damage higher than ever before making the game even easier.

The end result of this is to make talents pointless and now included in the list of useless things (such as skills, exotics, gear sets, etc). It will all now be about what attributes drop on items in order to create your end build.

Not trying to be over pessimistic and wanting more than ever to embrace this change, I have a worrying feeling that this was a knee jerk reaction and again fixing something which wasn't broken. Giving with one hand and taking away with another. When will be ever be able to use a build with skills, talents, perks, exotics, specialisations and mods? Sounding further away than Alpha Centauri atm!
