What hero are you playing? Not saying Shugoki does or doesn't need changes, but if anyone knows a strat it could be helpful.

Shugoki is BS. You can't even turtle him really because his attacks are so difficult to counter. They can instantly turn unblockable and take so long to swing they are difficult to predict for parries.

The Jiang Jun is seriously worse though.

can you like also put a cooldown on dodging because how am i supposed to play up against a rep 25 overall kensei who only does dodge attacks when i attack and does not know how to parry, like its sad

Lol @Kylethetrue - I've seen you post everywhere that Jiang Jun is OP or Jiang Jun is too strong...But I have beaten so many of them. Maybe instead of *****ing, you should try playing as a Jiang Jun and learn his moveset so you can counter them. For example, his sifu stance much like BP's bulwark stance is vulnerable to Guard Break, and he has VERY SHORT guard break range. So, less *****ing, more learning!

You need to learn how to play against the character effectively before deciding to call for a nerf.

Shugoki isn't very good in a 1v1 once you figure him out. Bait him with a feint and parry his opening light or block his light and then react accordingly to his follow up. If he headbutts, dodge it. If he charges for an unblockable wait to see if it turns into a hug or if he lets it fly. Learn the dodge timing for the unblockable and the hug and Shugoki will pose no threat to you in a 1v1. You can also dodge roll away from his hug every time and still have enough time to hit him with your most damaging opening heavy.

Orochi, Berkserker, Black Prior

Orochi:
You can deflect his opening light. Just make sure to use your light deflect in case he goes into a headbutt which will beat out your heavy deflect. The rest is pretty standard: dodge roll his hugs for max punishes and use your delayed dodge attacks to easily deal with any unblockables he lets fly. Once you grow used to his unblockable timings go for dodge into GB for more initial damage if he isn't falling for your mid-chain and finisher mixups.

Zerker:
You can trade with him by using your own hyper armoured attack chains so he'll never be able to stuff you out of your opening attack. Your hyper armoured attack chains are faster than his and you can even cancel them into a deflect or dodge attack. Your deflect scores you a guarranteed GB so a Shugoki would be hard pressed to try using lights or uncharged heavies on you and will be forced into charging his heavies thus opening himself up to punishes. Just don't become too dodge happy and the Shug won't be able to do much against you without risking himself in the process.

As Zerker you have more opportunities to punish him than he does you if you play it smartly.

Black Prior:
Bash attacks are Shugoki's single biggest hard counter because it goes through his hyper armour on attack startups and Prior is all about that bash game. Your dodge forward bash and bash after light are extremely safe as they cannot be punished on reaction and the timing on a read is quite tight. You can completely bully a Shugoki around just by making use of your bashes alone by alternating between your dash bash, zone, bash after light and even try a heavy soft feint into bash if you get bored.

Your light attacks have a very generous crushing counter property which means you can completely negate Shugoki's opening lights. Between them and your bash you have the upper hand in both offense and defence and can flow between the two seamlessly. But that's not all! You have the bullwark fullblock stance, which almost illiminates you even having to dodge roll away from his unblockable/hug mind games. Although it's best to play it safe and not grow too overconfident. You can pancake flip his hug as well as his unblockables just watch out for his hard feint to GB. You can punish his GB attempts by using your unblockable from Bullwark stance but it will require a bit of practice.

Bullwark's main use against Shugo is to ease up his pressure when you are being ganked. In a 1v1 your bash game and your crushing counters are more than enough to completely dominate him unless you feel like styling on him too.

Again, not a good idea to be calling for a nerf as your first port of call to something that you naturally learn how to deal with as you play the game more. You should be baiting and parrying a dodge attack happy Kensei and laughing about it.
