Let me start by saying I have spent a lot of hours in this mode, I've been level 100 for more than a week. 40% of my games were solo queue and the rest with 1 or more clan members
A few of the upcoming changes are actually pretty good:
The nerf on the boosts
The nerf on the defender drone
Now there's a combination of changes that will have massive consequences on how this mode will change.
Firstly, it seems like the healing chem launcher will be a must have skill in conflict now and will have a huge impact in this mode(possibly break it). The change on the cooldowns not resetting after respawn do not really affect chem launcher since it has multiple charges and very low cooldown on each of those, compared to the other skills.
Adding the fact that the damage multiplier will be 40% from 70% and the fact that the normalization will scale up to 500GS (meaning much higher health/armor pools), I fear that the time to kill will be way higher than the folks at Red Storm are anticipating. Add the fact that berserk and other damaging talents are getting nerfed and you will have people standing in chem launcher stacks and be pretty much unkillable. Skill builds will be able to have even stronger healing chem launchers now so you can do the math.
I can see fights being from range, both opposing sides in cover and shooting each other to eternity over stacks of chem launcher heals.
If your playstyle is more towards being aggressive and pushing the enemy for close quarter fights, I'm afraid you will also have to play with a chem launcher and start popping it once you get in their face if you want to have an actual chance of winning the engagement.
There are a couple of more issues I see besides the chem launcher stuff but this post is getting pretty long tbh, we can discuss in the comments if anyone is interested.
TLDR: the power of the healing chem launcher was not put into account by Red Storm when they were tweaking time to kill(and all the other stuff) in Conflict, possibly breaking the mode.
Having made a living for myself going solo into the DZ in Division1 I must say conflict is a sad existence for this game. Soooo incredibly imbalanced. You would think certain guns shoot rubber bullets. Whoever was in charge of PvP at Ubisoft for this game should be embarrassed. Bullet sponges have most certainly NOT left the division. If you shoot someone- they should die - especially in PvP. I can’t even touch conflict right now. Horrible excuse for a game mode. Love the story line and campaign in this game but the PvP falls miles short of what it was in its predecessor. Here’s to hoping they figure it out.
