Every patch I keep hoping for some performance optimizations and every single one I have been horribly disappointed. Is there ever going to be any?
Sometimes I can play the game for 30minutes, sometimes I can play for up to 2 hours, sometimes I can't even play for 2 minutes straight. Either way its always the same exact issues.
The game starts stuttering hardcore. 1-2 second freeze frames(hard locks) and then back to normal, then again and again and again until I force quit and re-load. Once it starts happening it will not stop and does not seem to be related to any hardware issues. Doesn't matter how much ram is available, doesn't matter what the cpu load is, doesnt matter what the temps of my system are, nothing seems to matter. Once it starts it will not stop untl restarting the game. Some of freezes even last for maybe 4-5 seconds just hard locking my screen, and usually once it goes back again I am either dead or very close.
When is there ever going to be any kind of indication of performance fix?
I can play AC: Oddysey, AC; origins, FC5, FCND all maxed out at 60fps without a single freeze. Plenty of others too.
Specs agian are Dell G3 Laptop with a I5 8300h, 8GB DDR4 and a GTX 1060 6gb max q.
I have tried just about everything I can think of on my end to try to prevent it. I have run all diagnostics to rule out any issues with my hardware(its a 3 month old laptop that I got brand new so it really shouldn't be), I have reformatted windows 10 with a fresh download of Windows 10 installation straight from Microsoft with all latest updates 1809 and have had nothing installed besides basic drivers, newest nvidia drivers from 12th of april, Div 2 and Uplay, with Afterburner to monitor everything in-game. Also using HWInfo to feed to riva tuner to monitor HDD activity and a few other things. I tired the Intelligent List Cleaner, I tried all preset settings and custom mix. I tried dx11 and dx12(dx12 is worse). Windowed mode, fullscreen, Windowed borderless, Ini tweaks. Turned off Superfetch in Windows 10 services as it has been the source of issues for me in other titles, disabled a lot of stock windows 10 services to conserve some extra ram but doesn't really matter. I even repasted the heatsinks and blew then out thouroughly to keep temperatures down a bit more to rule out thermal throttling being the culprit and closely monitoring the temps in-game and watching the CPU and GPU and HDD activity, and the freezing does not even seem to correlate with any of it.
I also noticed that this game seems to use a different amount of ram everytime I load it, by a large amount. Most games usually use up around the same average amount of ram everytime i load them, but this one sometimes its 3.8gb, sometimes its 4.8, sometimes its 5.8gb. Its always different by a large amount, but again no matter weather its using less or more ram it always eventually still ends up doing the same thing.
