The ammo amount in this title is a bit too low for my taste, I am in constant fear of running out due to stingy enemy drops and overall carry amount. Why is this so low compared to Division 1? I would like a modest 1200 -1500 rounds for my AR and the like for my subs, all other needs a little love too but one step at a time.
Me and a friend did our first heroic invaded tonight and this was our main concern, especially the last area as there was no ammo boxes there.
But it was fine, sure we ran out of ammo towards the end of the last fight for our main weapons, me on lmg and him ar. But mopped up the last few enemies without secondary ones.
And of course then there's the rest of the weapons as well. We both always have a weapon of each group with us because of this concern but rarely have to use them.
So personally I think it's fine as long as you prepare and bring weapons other then your main one with you.
And of course there's always the pistol :P
Really? Stop the spray and pray and learn to 1) aim and b) conserve ammo.Originally Posted by Xpendable_Hero Go to original post
It's true that you can't really run with two high-high (like 1200 smg + 300 MMR) guns, but I've never thought it wasn't fair.
As long as everyone is doing a fair share of damage, at least half your skills are adding to group dps, and your grenades aren't full at the end of arenas, you should never run totally dry.
On the other hand, I wouldn't mind being able to have x2 ammo for a primary weapon at the expense of No secondary weapon, just as an option.
Good advice here.Originally Posted by Gelantious Go to original post
I always have one of each type equipped with mods and ready to go in a pinch. Usually I use an AR as my primary and either an SMG or a Rifle as my secondary. If my primary runs out, I usually switch to an LMG.
Overall while it is noticeably less than D1, I don’t mind having that extra variable in there, though I do see how it might bug people who were so used to not really having to worry about it in D1.
It’s weird, but there’s one place where I almost always run dry on my primary: in the Martian landscape room in the Air and Space Museum. I don’t know if I’m missing a restock earlier in the Mission or if my aim just gets worse than usual in there.
Side note, if you ever get a chance to go to DC, the actual Aerospace Museum is awesome. I think the designers did a great job representing it!
Even on challenge/heroic you shouldn't be using THAT much ammo most of the enemies have a weak point. I know sometimes it's more fun to just shoot faces... but, you should ALWAYS aim for weak point.
It'll knock off a ton of hp in most cases if not fully kill them with only a few well placed bullets. Often times it'll also create a bit of cc depending on the enemy type.
Sometimes it'll blind/shock or even catch their buddies on fire if they're close enough.
I also always keep my eyes peeled for the guys throwing grenades. They typically say "throwing a grenade" or something along those lines but then an animation happens. Just above their head you'll see a progress circle.. make sure you dump a few bullets into that guy, he won't be fully in cover at that point so you'll be able to hit him and seriously most times even on heroic it's just a few shots into that guy and they'll drop their grenade on themselves and anyone around them.
The flame thrower guy.. a couple shots to his tank and he's blowing up. Only on challenge/heroic does he have any hp left after he blows up and he's not much of a threat after that.
Grenades are key and the environment are full of exploding stuff.. basically anywhere you see a gas can or something red..you can almost bet that's in an enemies path. So don't blow all that up right away. Save it and try to use it strategically.
For me the only ammo dumps are the warhounds and tanky dudes.
It makes the game so much easier.
If you really need ammo almost every part of every missions has an ammo box you can walk back to. In most final mission fights there's an ammo box somewhere in the combat area. Use them! However you should almost never need to. Think the only time I ever ran out of ammo for my primary weapon was the final part of Tidal Basin.
Really? I wish the ammo supply was actually less. I find ammo boxes in almost every room kinda stupid. It actually gives an advantage to lower RPM weapons that have higher per bullet damage. I liked the system the original division had in the beginning, low ammo but the choice to invest in other stats or get more ammo. If that was not enough you had lone star's bonus. This generic remove all choice and just spam trash because we want to cater to everyone is what ruins this franchise. Yet they kept adding more and more ammo, negated any point in running lone star, and allowed the one gun meta to rule the game. I remember actually caring about my pistol because it saved me many times. I understand not many people actually grasp cause and effect but maybe now you get why the house meta, striker meta, nomad meta were allowed to happen. Just spray forever because if I complain enough I will get more ammo. Just stunning.
