    Forced to play PvP

I commented on this before but i thought it only fair to actually watch the whole state of the game instead of just youtubers summaries

NOTE: this is for feedback to the developers, which they asked for, and are my own personal points of view. Please don't get toxic just because you don't agree with me.

Unfortunately I am even more disappointed than originally

To hear the creative director say the dark zone "isnt as scary as it was before" (its a game i'm not scared and i'm not a child) and in order for me to get a min maxed build to play the hardest content I as a none PvPer should be forced to go and play PvP to "chase" the best drops in the game i found not only insulting but a complete disappoint as to the future road map of where this game is going

I choose not to PvP because i don't like killing other people and the toxicity and bad feeling this causes, i bought this game as a looter shooter and i like min maxing hard content

It was always stated that all gear would NOT be locked behind particular play-styles or gates but only 35 days into release I am now being told by the creative director of the game that I should be a PvPer in order to play this game seems like what i was originally told was a complete lie

I am so disappointed that the person who is effectively in charge of the future direction of this game obviously has the point of view that this game should be a pvp game, if this is true then i wont be playing it and if i had known this before buying it i wouldn't have bought it

I know they said that there might be other ways in the future to get this level of loot but by listening to the way he spoke it seemed clear he thought that all people that didn't like the dark zone were crying babies who were scared of going in there and in order to get us to go in there we should man up and go and try it out and in fact if we didn't then we wouldn't be able to get the best gear in order to play the rest of the game is so insulting

Please can a developer clearly state if the future direction of this game is PvP because if it is i wont bother sinking any more time into it

    Thanks

While I know the Raid will give better gear than that and all, I fully understand your sentiment.
When I was watching that stream, it felt like something reminded me of someone else... and then it hit me...

You are not being told to be a PvP'er, so stop it.

    What is allegedly happening:
LZ max gear drops will be 500 GS.
DZ max drops will be 515 GS
Raid max drops will be higher than 515 GS, they just don't have a number yet.

If you don't want to PvP, don't. You got LZ and raid.

If you don't want to raid or PvP, your 500 GS gear will do just fine in the LZ.

You don't have to PVP, but you cannot shift blame to players in the DZ for killing you if you do not defend yourself.

I'm fine with that no problems here.

But what if the Raid requirement GS is 515 to get into it. (what then?)

    It´s not.

There you go, no more issues then. Lets move on to another topic.

Then what is it ?I haven't seen an official statement telling me what the requirement is.

Either way if it's not then cool i'm fine (the DZ's in my game are locked untouched) I haven't even done the missions to unlock them and they'll stay that way till the end of this games life. and again i'm fine with that, i'm also fine with exotics being locked in there because I have no need for them. (I mean they are pretty crap to start with (pestilence being a perfect example)

I have no beef with the DZ's they don't show up on my map and don't exist.

Massive's been trying to get everyone into the DZ since D1 release, better loot isn't the answer, not alone anyway.

Rogue death penalties need to reflect high risk/ high reward. If you make the penalties high enough, not everyone will shoot other players on sight, then the DZ won't be grieferville.

On the OP's point though, I do agree to an extent, the fact that they are trying to funnel people into the DZ who do not enjoy it already, isn't a good sign. Hopefully the Raids are a solid PvE option for getting loot, not meager offerings in comparison to the DZ.

The DZ may be unique as far as video games go, but unique doesn't always mean good.
