Did you bother to read the post by the devs thats has been linked in here a few times?Yeah I saw that, which is why I said if, as some of their balancing seems to be heading that way. Call it a preemptive strike. It's just a heads up that the PvE player base - by far the biggest section of the player base - doesn't want anything to do with the DZ. Or at least that's true for me, and it's non-negotiable.
They clearly say that DZ will not be the source of the highest ilvl gear in the game, that will be from the raid. Maybe the DZ will have gear equal to the raid gear, which would be fine, then there is sources of the highest gear from both PvP and PvE.. play however you want and there is still a path to the best gear in the game.
No there isnt. If I play how I want I wont take part in raids or PVP so where is my path? And fyi I am the one who authored the thread that drug out the response from the moderatorOriginally Posted by Krombopuluos Go to original post
I honestly feel like you're missing the mark a bit. You are saying no one is forcing us. That logic is framed poorly though. By that logic, no one is forcing anyone to wear the highest "best" gear in the game ever, so why have to strive for at all? Why not just make every individual set the same stat, at the same level, and never having an option to increase, or furthermore just remove gear all together, and make it a 3rd person COD game? If they institute higher gear score gear, of courses there will be desire to obtain that gear in a game that is fundamentally designed to promote gear hunting. By limiting the drop chance to an environment that is specific to a play type i.e. PVP they are in turn forcing a demographic of players with slim to zero interest in that type of gaming experience into said gaming experience, Bad game design, and essentially backtracking on what the game was originally marketed as.
No one should be HIGHLY SUGGESTED a.k.a. "Forced" to do content that they otherwise have zero interest in doing simply because it has the only option to achieve the highest level gear, in a gear based game. Other major games follow this same principle, not awarding PVP players with the highest level of gear, similar to TD2 they just don't need it -PVP is normalized, so why would you need higher stats anyways?-
look for the game "Freecell" it's pretty good and has no raids or pvp.Originally Posted by ArmyMedic75 Go to original post
Such a constructive and substantive response.Originally Posted by teksuo1 Go to original post
As I stated in another thread, go forth and gather up the PvE Army and start campaigning now for the PvE Raids to NOT drop exclusive gear or the gear with, as confirmed, the highest gear score and start campaigning for all gear to drop everywhere with varying drop rates and to rewards niche activities (DZ and Raids) with exclusive cosmetic-orientated items only.Originally Posted by ArmyMedic75 Go to original post
Goodness knows we are told often enough that this game rises and falls at the behest of the PvE Army so utilise them to bring change - I can only see it as a win-win tbh.
Maybe get Merphee to start one of his Reformation threads: Did well for TD1 and got us the TD2 LZ![]()
If you won't do the hardest PvE in the game.. and you won't do any of the risky PvP in the game.. why should you have a path to the absolute best gear in the game?No there isnt. If I play how I want I wont take part in raids or PVP so where is my path?
You don't want to do the hardest things in the game yet you still expect the best gear... that's like the definition of entitled bud.
Do you play WoW and expect to get raid ilvl gear sets from quests? In MMORPGs the quality of rewards are usuallly tied to the difficulty of the content done to receive said reward. Why in the hell would you expect to get the same quality of gear from soling that other's got from a raid?
Get over yourself. You're not owed anything, stop expecting handouts. Want the best gear, do the hardest content. It's that simple.
Well, what did you expect? If you don't want to play either PvP or PvE content in the game AND want to get the highest tier rewards in the game from looting boxes in the open world, you're in the wrong game. Your whining is akin to "I want to stay in WT1 and have 500 GS, I don't want to be forced to do WT2 PvE content." There are no World Tiers in Freecell.Originally Posted by ArmyMedic75 Go to original post
