    LMG is best weapon?

is there any reason to use another weapon type? the good lmg's hold over 100 rounds, the rate of fire is good and the bullets seem to stagger enemies the most out of all other weapon types... the only downsides are that how the gun makes enemies hide in cover with the supress mechanic but this can be a good thing if you need to heal or run to another cover without getting shot at. the other downside is the slow reload time but i thinnk this can be reduced with sniper specialization talent.

im currently leveling a new character and a decent lmg seems to make any other weapons useless...especially after the ar bullet capacity nerf. what do you think?

I use LMG to supress so my friends can flank.
When an elite desides to go for me its a good weapon to just kick the living s**t out of him.
But to clear out enemies to the left and right i dont think its that good.

But my 5 cents go to the Rifle. Thats just the same as we had in TD1 sniper without scope.
The rifle is the best in my opinion.

I can do up to 100k per bullet with LMG when stacking all the bonuses beside after-kill ones (Unstoppable). It's a combo of +WDMG, Optimist, DTE and CHC. Yes LMG can be really powerful especially against sponged enemies. But AR has better burst damage.

but with the big elite guys with the chainsaws or miniguns you can kill an elitie without having to reload with an lmg, meanwhile you have to reload multiple times with an ar to kill one. so the lmg has better sustained damage than an ar

Yes it has + helps to supress enemies. That's why I use both.

Every weapon can be a beast in the right hands. How powerful a weapon can become is also dependent on the build you are running with it. So difficult to properly answer this question.

I have yet to see anyone kill one of those hammer guys with one clip of LMG.
