This very thing has been in Rainbow Six which is the single reason I do not play it. Single pick in Ranked matches is acceptable. In casual it is not acceptable at all to even consider it. If some random picks Lawbringer and I can't use him (rep 62 LB) I'd be pissed anytime I see the random throw out a Long arm in a 1 on 1 fight. Or a zone in a fight.Originally Posted by Okita_Soji.. yea, i agree that its not a great idea. its not a mob where u have 300 characters and 5 buttons to learn. the characters are too complex in this game to expect newer players to know more than 2 characters. pick before Q is an awesome idea but yea it might make the matchmaking too long.. but maybe not... could work in that case only i think.
So, when I try to do my order with 24 vanguard kills, and only vanguard hero I play is a Warden, so I abuse Warden with two other guys, who pick up Wardens?Originally Posted by OhHowSheGoingEh Go to original post
And let's say Black Prior. I played only BP for a month, cause I want him to have 8 rep and teal gear score, cause I have 30 chests to open and claim some cool visuals to him. So...I abuse BP, cause for the first month of last season everyone played BP?
P.S. I have 6 heros I know and can perform well. Still, when I do my orders or leveling only one hero, I don't want to be lock from it.
Maybe there should be something instead that encourages multiple different heroes, because right now roles do not matter.
By the way, I am still not convinced that a 4 raiders team is a worse matchup than 1 raider, 1 shugoki, 1 jinjun and 1 shinobi. The only advantage they might have is the difficulty on remembering their patterns (remembering "raider likes to let the second zone fly" is not enough, you must remember "the purple female raider likes to let the second zone fly"), and they might be more familiar with each others' capabilities.
The problem is, that from 25 heroes, only 6-7 is a good pick for 4s. Peacekeeper is, for example, is useless in any team fights, gladiator is a joke in 4v4, while some heroes can pretty much instawin ganks on both sides. Ubi should work on that.

Sorry but it's too hilarious read "strategies" for people that just want clearly abuse a mechanic.
I don't understand the difficult of let people choose the hero before the matchmaking, so matchmaking match people that don't have the same hero.
And in case of pre made group, well, learn another hero.
People that don't play rainbow six because they can't use their favourite operator.
People that say "moba it's just 5 skills and nothing else".
Mobas and fps like rainbow six have more and more players of for honor and no one complain about single pick.
For honor, 3 players around the world, and people complain for a single pick in 4v4 mode.
Hilarious.
I'll explain the difficulty of that then as simply as possible. Wait times for search queue.Originally Posted by IRostiI Go to original post
Single pick in rainbow isn't actually the same as how it is on this game..we've had single pick before..Brawls.
Rainbow deals in projectile warfare. For Honor..close quarter melee combat with completely different kits. I played back when Blackbeard was nerfed.
