    Medusa Review

First, I am not going to do a big review into all fight phase with Medusa.

Medusa for me was the most difficult to fight and longest time out of the other two mythical creatures in the game, but she was one of the best fights and one of the deadliest creatures in Odyssey I faced and I was happy to had the chance to fight her at last to finish my Odyssey

The three weapons I chose was the Minotaur's Labrys, Sword of Damocles, hades bow but the Minotaur's axe was to slow to swing in these fights I tried to use the fury of bloodline and Ring of chaos on her but no effect on her. I didn’t use any other abilities because I didn’t have many ability points to use and didn’t want to waste them on something, I might not use again so what I had was used on the Master level.

The three fight phases were hard because she uses those lighting bots very time, I wanted to stand behind the pillars and use hades bow with devastating shot ability on her and the soldiers but I just didn’t get one chance to use it or I was not quick enough so I gave up on the bow. Having to ducking and rolling most of the time to keep away from her beam and bots and deal with the soldiers I just didn’t realising at the time my health bar was nearly all in all red so having to used second wind ability many times it was a life saver.

The only weapon I used was the Sword of Damokles on her and Ring of Chaos ability on the soldiers and the hardest part was when she teleporting around so I run at each location when she stopped and attack her to do as much damage and in a quick time I had, plus she put me on the ground a few times and in her final end when her health was down, she does something crazy teleporting around twice more before settling on a location it was a real pain now her health bar is near the end, I felt hope at last just before I killed her.

I used the Legendary Achilles set transmog to spartan hero armor and upgrade my three weapons from lvl90 to lvl99 that cost me 3, million drachma and allots of resources plus upgrading the engravings at hephaestus workshop I was going to use EPIC weapons, but the Legendary DPS was higher

Slightly OT/ sort of related but I really, really find it difficult to understand how anyone can find Medusa hard to the point where people are making strategy guides and reviews for it.
She was arguably the second easiest of the mythical creatures you actually had to physically fight.
It's simple: just be patient, hide behind the pillars and keep moving in the opposite direction of where she's going.
Obviously your build will determine how quickly you kill her but even with an average build she's perfectly doable following these basic defensive maneuvers.

I don't like the sci-fi all that much I wouldve done things different IDK what her OG appearance was in the myths but I like the tailed gorgons better just my opinion tho I wouldve done something more complex with her tailed appearance than this 1 just seems cooler than what we got I mean damn slightly off topic I want to see a cerberus or a hydra maybe a siren or something else you know? the 3 brother cyclops are generic and not well thought out cyclops have always been generic since they dont do all that much but a a frigging chimera that has more depth and creative potential and something I think I should be in charge of since my mind is creative with these beats like Santa Monica creative but maybe a bit more

Finally! It seemed like I was the only one who didn't find Medusa to be a tough fight. Seriously, I don't understand how people are finding her so difficult to beat.....for me, she was the easiest "boss" to defeat in the game and I was actually disappointed at how easily I took her down. Admittedly, I did have some trouble defeating her on my first playthrough, but shes really easy to beat once you realize she pretty much uses the same movement/attack patterns over and over. Now, I can take her down on Nightmare difficulty on my first try

It was just in my own opinion and I have only played two assassin games, maybe you found it was easy like others because you're used to this style of fighting but I am not

Medusa is a boss fight that encapsulate all the tactics you’ve learned up to this point. Mainly, it tests how you switch between dealing with mobs and a 1 vs 1 duel. You’ve gotten a pre-cursor to the Medusa fight with Kalydonian Boar. In both fights, there are many ways to win, but both share similar challenges presented to you: adrenaline and abilities cool down management.

If you do spend a lot of adrenaline against mobs, then you won’t have enough and must gain it back against the boss, and vice versa. Understanding this as you go through the phases will help you formulate you attack plan in advance, and not get overwhelmed and running around like a chicken, wondering what to do.

The safest thing to do is to use abilities against the mob to take them out quickly, however you’ll mostly likely spend a lot of time trying to hit Medusa conventionally while she’s constantly teleporting. The most efficient tactic is to use a mix of abilities and conventional attacks against mobs so that you can gain adrenaline back before Medaus steps down from her floating shield. Look for abilities in your skill tree screen that can interrupt everyone or bypass Medusa’s attacks, during that brief moment you can gain adrenaline back with melee hits.

And like everyone has said, use the pillars to temporarily block yourself from Medusa’s rays, but don’t get too far way from her. The mobs are vulnerable to poison while Medusa is vulnerable to fire.

    Hello AORUS2017,

Awesome review here! I've definitely seen quite a few players talking about their frustrations regarding the difficulty of Medusa. She is definitely not easy to take down!

Thanks for sharing your review with us, as well as a little walk through and tips and tricks that helped you to defeat her. It was a very nice read, and cool screenshot at the end.

To be honest, Medusa is not even a challenge anymore. Even if I do nothing at all, my health will last for one minute or more... When your resistances are close to 100%, you are almost immortal on easy mode. Heck, even on nightmare mode with 100% melee resistance and 80% ranged and elemental resistance, I should stand in front of Medusa, doing nothing at all and she would struggle to kill me LOL. It reminds me of Origins without level scaling. Me at level 50+ in Alexandria, with enemies at level 3 or 4. It was a joke. Their arrows barely scratched me. If I didn't do anything at all, they would kill me after 5 minutes of combined attacks (arrows thrown at me, constantly).

She was hard the first few times until I learned how she fights, I shot her with arrows for most the fight and the only ability I used was Second Wind on her and Ring of Chaos on the rock monsters. She isn't that hard once you get her pattern down. I found that you can't go straight at her like most, you have to do more long range attack.

To be honest there were many gamers that found it hard to kill Medusa, on easy or normal modes, but for thoses who are used to this type of game play found it easy on nightmare mode.
