I am on Ps4, have the gold edition and had an issue getting the DLC to work. I went to my Ps4 dashboard, selected Trails Rising and scrolled down to playstation store and went into add-ons. There you can see the Route 66 DLC and for me it said "free" rather than "purchased." I "downloaded" the Route 66 DLC from there and the next time I started my game it was working fine, Route 66 and all.

Struggle is still real. Just purchased the extra stuff months later and guess what. At 85% completion of the game and it says I have to complete Asian novice class. If it doesn’t work in the next few days I’ll ***** at PlayStation and get my money back.

WOW! The solution is literally in the message before your comment. The person you quoted even confirmed that the solution worked. Perhaps you should be spending less time on your PlayStation and more time reading books.

I tried following those steps and it didn't work for me, I don't think it works for people who purchased the DLC separately. Also please don't flame me for posting this, I do read books (including some about law and violations of consumer protection laws...).

Edit: I can play the DLC now. I didn't do anything to fix it btw, just logged in one day and there it was.
