The only use for the crafting bench is for mods and a little bit of crafting for levelling up, but once you have hit 490+ the crafting bench is pointless. I haven't even got any where near half of the weapon and gear blueprints, yet my gear drops already exceed the crafting bench limits of 490, which seems a little absurd to me. Considering how costly it is to craft an item that can't even be recalibrated, the 490 limit seems even more absurd.
I know the initial reasoning for the limit, i.e. to prevent people from crafting to max gear score straight away, but once a player has reached the max gear score they should be able to upgrade the bench to make it relevant again.
So my suggestion is to make the crafting bench be able to craft 500 GS items once a player hits 500+ GS. Heck I would even go as far as letting us recalibrate crafted items, considering the resource cost it takes to craft an item.
1) Rerolling on Exotics for better weapon damage.
2) Craft Hardwired Gear
3) Maybe more Gear sets in the future to craft.
Other than that, it seems nothing much.
Until Exotics get adjust to be their "true legendary weapons of this game to a point we are only allowed to carry only one" status not many people are rerolling on Exotics due to how bad they are when used except for their holster perk.
Hardwire is just not good unless we get a Specualization that brings back Shock grenades and Shock Turrets.
and a lot of people are concerned for future Gear Sets and their design to be unique from the High-End builds due to their Gear set talents .(Still think gear set talents should have been treated more as alternatives to High-end gear talents rather than a replacement for the Brand bonus.)
I agree, the crafting currently feels like an absolutely pointless feature once you reach end-game (or anywhere near). I consider crafting of gear on-level (gear score) as a "must" and by that I do not mean the gear should be crafted in a range of 450-500, but 490-500 at least. With all the randomness, restricted recalibration and material costs, it will still require a solid portion of luck to get the piece of gear you want to have.
Did not think it was possible to use crafted gear for recal? Last time I tried it would not let me use a crafted item as either the source or the destination for a recal.Originally Posted by ThatFranc Go to original post
Oh, I haven't realized that was a thing. I'm at the point of trying to craft gloves with grenade-cooking talent, I haven't actually tried using those items for recalibration just yet. Damn it.Originally Posted by DrayloreX Go to original post
