Division 1 pvp was bad. Real bad. It was never a proper pvp game. I admit there was something special about patch 1.5-1.6 it was fun for a while indeed but still it was a broken game. So they needed to start from scratch. I’m kind of in the grey zone. I understand they wanted to start from scratch but also they could’ve just release the game next year.

As of now I don’t even agree with Marco, he’s just not even that good imo. He’s a good player ofc but now everyone’s using widdz build he can’t even pt together a proper talent tier list right. he’s just selling his depression lmao. Jokes aside. They started from scratch, dug too deep but so little time to actually make it fun. I don’t want the next Destiny 2 type of waiting game. It is frustrating. Releasing a game half-baked and then accusing frustrated gamers of being toxic, immature, calling them fake outrage is some next level ****e. I think I’m almost getting done with this whole looter shooter genre. Always missing the very basic features, very few game system actually work, it is clear the developers have no time to actually play their game, there is no responsible senior developer calling shots, no clear vision of the game. It is not healthy both for gamers and the devs. No one to put blame on I guess. It’s just a time we’re living in. Yeah maybe Imma go play Persona 5 I’ve been prolong to play for so long.

    Demiz3r,

I have joked about Marco Style being a mistake and at times a transcendent video game god who is not even comparable to the average gamer, but I do give him credit for making points and doing the math very well in his other videos.

I think Marco's vid makes some points.

    1. Normalization is too aggressive in the game in pushing people down. I had hoped that other attributes like added on Crit Hit Chance, Weapon Damage, and other stats would not be normalized. I would have hoped those would give some build diversity and benefit to those how really spent time developing their build. The idea that normalization makes skill mods useless by lowering the skill stat too far is a real problem. People who have the best gear should get some benefit and sadly they don't.

    2. I never thought I would see the day that Marco would want a rogue mechanic in the Occupied DZ, but really he did eventually admit that while Rogue 2.0 was flawed - it was necessary.

    3. His point about play making is a very valid point. There is no turn around options for people in a PvP fight. Also midfight gadgets are also not a thing. The Devs didn't want the cheese and no-brainer skills from Div 1, but at this point they may have taken it too far. Skilled players should have turn around options and most strong PvP games offer that.

    4. The exploit with spawn switching in Conflict is a real problem.

    5. All of his other points are fairly accurate and I can't disagree with him on really any of them except one crucial point.

The one point I disagree with Marco Style on is the idea that none of this can be fixed. The devs on this game have been extremely responsive. I have been fairly certain for a while that the devs on this game have put in too much of themselves to give up. They grinded on through the winter of Div 1 well after its initial implosion. The Devs on this game do not seem to me to be the kind of people to give up.

Marco clearly has a gift and is extremely talented. I don't agree with him on everything, but he makes strong points and knows how to prove them. He is really burned out, but that is not a moral fault. It is a sign he needs to ungrind his gears.

It feels that instead of talking about issues with most mechanics he just wanted to talk about how most of the things he liked where the ones that broke the PVP in the first game which he abused in the DZ so now that those mechanics are not here he is sad, there is some good points on the conflict spawn issue, but most of the video is just him complaining how he can't instant pop heals with the hot new build facetanking stuff. Doesn't seem in my eyes that he wants a place for fair play but just a place he can show off instead

Great video as usual, especially when what he is saying effects his own channel so heavily, I remember when Marco first started doing videos and breaking down the game mechanics, he brought a lot of customers to the division and he has grown alot, its nice to know he is an honest guy -division is his bread and butter, hes being loyal to his subscribers.

Its a sad day indeed, but great news for the PvE only playerbase. These changes were completely the devs decision, talk about not understanding your own product and target audience, its basic business.

    Well guess thats me done.

So in your eyes using heals while low on health is broken?

He was talking how people would abuse talents to facetank which is great part of the "chickendance" meta that was D1 PVP experience through 90% of the game, with med kits being more used to get boost abusing talents then really "oh **** i'm about to die, better heal now" and more go running towards the enemy and be ready to spam medkit ,and he constantly list more example of things he considered fun that were also part of what created many things people hate on D1 PVP epxerience.

Don't mistake me disagreeing with him on how this game PVP should be (he appears to just want more of division 1 nobody uses cover and just runs around doing chickendance abusing heals), with i am being perfectly happy with current state of the game, i am constantly posting my criticism on how build variety and skills is very poor and how he is irght that certain mechanics with spawn in conflict are an issue, again me not agreeing with him is not me saying the PVP is great, i just don't want the PVP to be division 1 all over again because i hated it

Seems like a mixed perspective video. I understand some of his points and can agree that the game needs work/fixes in the pvp area. I also think that his role as a youtuber that centers his content mostly around pvp entertainment has run out of content and he associates some of that blame onto the game. There isnt the setup for him to manhunt for hours and high kill ratios like he did in D1. There isnt scenarios that can be borderline exploit or tactical pending your perspective to use against lower skill or unaware players.

Since people are referencing WoW, I would say Marco is like the player sitting outside Org looking to duel everyone because he wants to test his skills/build/combinations, but after he wins a few duels nobody wants a repeat. He is then bored and needs something else to scratch that itch.
Current DZ and conflict modes do not have the setup to offer skill diversity to stand out and make youtube videos for added likes/clicks.

I do agree with him regarding outplaying. Not necessarily that TD1 did it right, but currently the movement and everything is just anti 1vsX. Like I get that 1vs More is supposed to be harder, but in between the no sprint reload, slow recovery in between fights, ... there's nothing you can do in the majority of situations.

Hell at this point I'd even like a "holster weapon and run faster" option so I can at least kill 1 person, run away to gain distance again and the pick off the next one. The game still ends up being a CQC fustercluck half the time.

Half the fights are still people magdumping at eachother, gunplay lacks depth, movement is extremely static, ...

TTK is too fast for this time of shooter especially with the current netcode. This clip from twitch is a perfect example of why this game just doesn't work as a pvp game right now. The game plays like a bad F2P shooter.
