    MarcoStyle's video on PvP

Great video. I ask you to keep an open mind. Give it a watch. Please don't make this into another PvP vs PvE. Keep it civil and constructive.
My opinion aligns with Marco's opinion. There isn't much to say. Where do we go from here? I don't know. Maybe I need to accept that this is the PvP and I need to get my PvP fix elsewhere. As someone that enjoyed logging on every day to go in the dark zone to PvP, I think it's clear that this dark zone was made for players that are not like me. I think I just need to accept that. What are your thoughts about the video or the PvP in general?

I've never played PvP in TD1 or 2, for PvP I play Counter-strike, a game built from the ground up for PvP. The Division, despite all its' flaws, and some questionable decisions by the Devs, has always been a PvE game to me. The PvP in TD1 made me cringe, all the "git good" crew thinking they actually have skill, no, they'd get destroyed in a game like CS, they just knew what talents and perks to stack to get the edge!

I have to disagree, that's like saying a WoW isn't a pvp game even though it very much is and always has been since patch 1.12.

Having better items doesn't mean that you are automatically better. A person with more skill and worse items will always beat a player with better items and worse skill.

Look, I don't want the post to descend into arguing already, but most people that know TD1 well know its' PvP (while sometimes entertaining) was completely broken due to the stackable buffs, sig skills, chicken dance etc. And to think otherwise...well, let's just say we agree to disagree. In terms of PvP skill; reactions, aim, sit awareness, and teamplay, it was hard to guage a player in TD1 given all the stuff they could hide behind. A game like CS has none of that "noise", and makes it clear what someones' abilities are.

I'd have to agree as well. This game just sadly doesn't have that edge anymore. Every fights the same and I just gave up on it. Maybe they can make it better? Who knows? I doubt it.

You are comparing apples and oranges. CS is a competiive shooter and Division is rpg shooter looter. Well, more of a shooter now.
While I agree with you that PvP was broken due to balancing. It was fun. Especially, on Fridays. Rogue Fridays at DZ 3 West checkpoint where everyone was going rogue.

Like I say, happy to agree to disagree on this. I couldn't take the PvP in this game seriously with all the cheesy mechanics, perks, netcodes, etc, etc. But each to their own, would be no fun if we all liked the same things!

On a separate note, I've just spent an hour on Path of Exile, not played it since TD2 came out, but I have to admit it's nice to feel powerful, as opposed to being a drunken, rookie recruit with no health and poor skills on the mean streets of Washington!

There was minimal skill involved in many of the things i saw and experienced in D1 DZ

There's no skill in one shot nuking someone on first sight.. normally from behind as they are engaged in a furious battle during a solo extraction.
There's no skill in "warping out" when your almost dead, because the player you ganked came back to hunt you down and settle the score..
There's no skill in sitting behind a wall your not meant to be inside and "winning" over anything on the "right" side of that wall.

I spent a lot of time in the DZ in D1, as a solo farmer.. and as a part of a cheater hunting crew, mostly trying to avoid the Redskulls as it was super rare they'd ever actually want a fair fight..
It was rare to find Rogue's with any form of honor that wern't exploiting something.. sometimes you'd get "as intended" gameplay encounters.. but the most of the time it was kids having a laugh because they could get away with cheating or ganking without any repercussions unless you hunted the little PoS down and filmed him.. sent it to Ubi.. etc..

I haven't even looked at D2's DZ... because I know all them chuckleheads will be back, exploiting stuff and having a great time at others expense,, not what i paid for sorry.. that's not PvP.. there's a whole 'nother term for that kind of player... When I feel the need for some PvP.. I'll hit conflict. or play something else.
