The Shooting Range is not helpful

The shooting range feels mis leading.

I mainly use the DPS and the TTK ranges and every shot i take is a orange or red crit. The armor on elites and named enemies melts just like i would expect it too.

I see these youtube videos 1 Million DPS WITH AN AR!!!!

So i find all the gear in these videos, go downstairs test the build...CHECK g2g.

Then i start a challenging mission and i'm suddenly only able to hit nothing but white numbers and enemies seemingly have 10 MILLION ARMOR values.

I think the shooting range needs a tweak because it does not accurately translate into missions. I triple body tap a red and it's done. But in the real world i dump a whole mag into a red before he goes down.

Does optimal range not exist in the shooting range or something? I feel like i'm being tricked by the mathematics somehow...

The shooting range also doesn't simulate real threat.

    As in, here's an example.

I got First Blood on a sniper rifle, wanted to test build with it.
Every shot I made, had First Blood enabled. (This is before Massive made the description better)

So what it was is that - Let's use M700 as example. 7 shots. Reloading after each shot will not proc First Blood, just like the updated description noted. But if you're at 1~6 shots, and the conflict circle is gone. AKA no more threats around, and Fast Travel is re-enabled. Your next shot will become First Blood, regardless of it not being the 7th round / first round in a full mag.

I don't know if there are any other talents that'd get affected by threat levels. But just wanted to point that out. Shooting range doesn't really help much, aside from letting you get a feel of how the weapon handles. Without going out to the public street, and shooting at nothing like a madman.

I never want to use DPS as a benchmark, I always use damage per hit..
