Greatest PVE ever won't keep me logging in for 2.5+ years

Just so my post isn't all negative: the PVE content is excellent in D2. Almost every facet of PVE (exception: damage skills need to be more effective against AI) is an improvement from the prequel.

Now that that is out of the way, no matter how great the PVE is, I'm very confident that it won't keep me logging in for 2.5+ years like D1 PVP did. I do not care for the PVP in this game. It seems super casual with a super casual skill gap. D1 patch 1.7 had the best skill gap. I'm not upset, just disappointed. The 1-30 PVE alone was worth the $99. It just might be like that B+ movie where one says: that was really good, but is it good enough to watch again when I could watch something new. The space museum mission was amazing, but I'm not going to play it 900+ times.

I've logged into D1 a few times since D2 has launched. There are still manhunts, and I could still find a game of skirmish in a reasonable amount of time. Please bring back the GEs. I did not like patch 1.8.3, but now. . . patch 1.8.3 is not all bad.

Finally, I still can't wrap my head around the fact that one shot checkpoint turrets made it into the final product. How many people had to sign off on that one?

So as Massive says "The encounters with adversaries in the game are working as designed!"

Yeah I pretty much log in play a mission, then spend an hour looking through my inventory.... like how you do when you feel kinda hungry and open the fridge 10 times just to see the same things. I saw the problem in WT4 but hoped WT5 would bring the actual endgame stuff and make most builds effective. I had hoped it was just a weird scaling issue in the lower tiers that ruined some builds and because it was never intended to be the endgame part would greatly improve. Well I was wrong, the more you hope the devs will finally make it right. They just as soon show they truly have no idea. Much like how the first week of 1.7 was awesome. Then they nerfed skills again because they COULD be used in PVP, they could prevent face hugging and force distance. Funny how they want to make the game better but keep failing the same ways. OMG 10 people are using seekers NERF, 99% are using the House..... sure why not.

I'm a big division player and think this will keep me interested. Bummed how they have the gear set up though, you cant ever get strong.

Defiantly here for the long haul.
But funny thing is I feel that same exact way about pvp.
I can dabble in it a bit but just can't get the into it. That dopamine rush like I get in pve, for me.
    Nothing wrong either way imo.
