Please enable increased difficulty 1-29 without running missions first

My friends and I came from TD1 1.3 where one wrong move wiped your whole team, it was brutal, it was frustrating, but more importantly when you finally completed that mission man was it satisfying. While I continued to play TD1 right up until launch my friends stopped, luckily they decided to pick up TD2 and we've squaded up again to help restore order in DC...only there's one problem; we're all on auto-pilot. We can walk through missions and it's no challenge. Sure we can replay the missions on hard after one of us has done them if we're on the right persons map but Massive, where's the challenge (and where's the reward for doing it anyway).

Now I know it changes post end game but please allow us players to push ourselves, I don't wanna rush through to endgame, I want to appreciate the level design and the beautiful world you guys have painstakingly put together but it seems like you want us to run through it all at top speed.

Levels 1-29 are also for newbies, so it would be unfair to gate them to someone coming from TD1. The world tiers, along with challenge and heroic difficulty will challenge you and your friends soon enough.

I'm not after increased rewards, 1-29 feels so pedestrian.
