I’ll never understand the fear of the “bullet sponge”. Isn’t every enemy in literally every game a sponge? The only thing you can do is add mechanics and AI, but npcs are still technically a damage sponge until health reaches 0.Originally Posted by ErethrenGarav Go to original post
The TAC-50 should be the best anti-armor weapon in the game. It is classified as an anti-material weapon IRL, meaning that it is designed to damage heavy enemy assets like vehicles, buildings, etc. Yet it barely tickles WT5 elites and bosses unless you shave off the target's armor with other weapons first. Yes, the latter is ridiculous.
My suggestion -- a 50-cal hit should rock any target short of a full blown armored vehicle, applying these effects:
1) Bleeding on all hits
2) Head shots cause disorient
3) Leg shots cause slowed movement / crippled debuff
4) Target gets a "weakened armor" debuff that causes increased armor damage
Just food for thought...
Granted - if we're being technical EVERY enemy with a health-bar is a bullet sponge... until it's dead and no longer an enemy.Originally Posted by Anointed-One Go to original post
And not so much a fear as a derision. Its a lot more about achieving an acceptable median, between the green gear-sets, endgame exotics with their, against-type niche gimmicks and several other poorly designed talents and perks, the equipment provided to endgame players falls short of the experience of those merely climbing up to T5 - so, the 'tools' so to speak aren't quite up to the actual challenge.
Between tier 4-5 I experienced one hell of a tank buff to enemies and a horrific progression by comparison to previous tiers (with 450 gear often being better than 500), ameliorated only by using the best talents available - these are soon to be nerfed into the ground if PTS is any indication - because tall poppy syndrome I guess - I'd much rather they examine the utility of lesser used items, talents and perks and figure out a way to make them much more useful - consistently nerfing merely destroys another viable player option, it doesn't necessarily make everything else much more viable.
