Something I was really frustrated with in this game is that sometimes it can be hard to get from where you are to where you need to be. Especially if there is a time limit, like bounties, it can be hard to get to where you need to be without getting into 10 fights on the way.
There is a solution..... it turns out the enemies are very blind and slow to spot you. Turns out that if you run, you can run right past patrols and such and not get engaged in combat.
So, just like Forrest Gump...... from this day on, if I was ever going somewhere, I was RUNNING!
Obviously if you run close to them you'll get spotted and the bounties give 15 minutes which is more than enough to go to the place where you need to be and when you're there the timer stops, I remember a couple of days ago I rescued some civilians and they gave me a bounty which I took but didn't want to complete it because I wanted to do other stuff and when I finished what I was doing I saw that I have left 1 minute, which was enough to reach the place and the timer stopped.
Even if you fail because of the time you can activate the bounty again and no, you don't need target intel again, because you already unlocked it.
Just circling back to say, after a few weeks doing this, I am certain that the random patrol spawning is influenced by whether you are running or not. Some things do spawn, but not much spawns when you are running. So if you are just interested in getting from one point to another without too much happening on the way, this definitely works.
Yes, there is also fast travel, but to me that breaks the immersion. Also, fast travel can only get you so close.
And sometimes you do get detected. If you keep running, you might outrun them -- usually you will. A funny thing happened yesterday.... I got detected running past some Outcasts, and one of those chest bomber maniacs followed me for about a half mile before finally giving up.
