On iPad Air2. Opened initially, saw opening argument and got call, chose to Create-a-Kid. Tweaked avatar. At the bottom it showed the downloading bar.

My clickable options were to add hat, clothes, randomize appearance, reset appearance, and the bottom center had the small square ‘u’ with an up arrow that opens the option to send or bookmark. Didn’t see any way to move forward so I swapped to another app to (hopefully) let it go about downloading.

Checking back it reloaded, told me it would download while playing, and now it hangs on intro screen. After a few secs I get the “are you having trouble” msg in upper right. The message in middle says downloading.

Tried rebooting iPad, no effect. The amount remaining to download doesn’t seem to change.

Suggestions?

Let's see if we can't figure this one out. Have you tried any of the following: Force closing the app and then restarting it, turning the device off and then on again and/or uninstalling and reinstalling the game itself?

Aside: came to forum to check this, it recognized me and Welcome back, Mallacai. But when I hit Reply it forced me to log in again??

Anywho. I have tried clearing the app, and rebooting my iPad. Have not tried delete/reinstall.

Just got the update and ran across another wierdness, though probably App Store, when checked game, said was an update, clicked to go there, did not show any update available. Clicked my Updates option, there were five other apps that needed updates, did so, then showed no updates available. Did search on your App manually and it finally showed as having an Update (vs Open).

I applied update, went in, it did a download WITH a progress bar, fairly short, then got pop up warning me there would be a download in background while playing (now like 580 MB vs the 375 or so from before). Said applying configs, loving in, and then hangs on the text, no progress bar, “Downloading assists...”.

I’ll try the full delete install route.

Am curious, in Create-a-Kid, when you are done tweaking, select had and outfit, should a continue button or such appear or is that bottom center icon with up-arrow it or...?

Ok, further. Did the delete, reinstall. It let me get to Create-a-kid again. This time I waited out the 150mb download which *finally* lets me Play and got to do the intro fight. Finished, opened up the street scene and ‘continue’ to chase good ole Stan. Clicked on New Kid, zoomed in on him with a fuzzy close up and hung doing nothing but playing background music. Gave it a few minutes. Quit out and restarted. Back to it hanging on the opening screen at same place as before (after configs and logging in, then downloading).

Ya know, it is really annoying for y’all to say we can play and it will download in background yet we can’t progress without certain large chunks first...and if you quit you’re screwed. I mean being stuck in Create-a-kid for 150mb to begin with. Then I’m guessing It was trying to pull down another chunk before I could go to the first fight and my closing it has hosed it again when I restarted it. It seems like you’d have been better served by simply forcing a large (everything for the first act/hour/whatever) download as part of the initial Get process than trying to give the instant gratification of saying you can play immediately without any big download, oh - but not really...
